Re: SilverBoy: My Chevrolet Enjoy LS - Initial Ownership Review

Nice pic's Vishwas..

I could not digest the looks of the car hence washed it [lol].
Mileage 12 ? Isn't it very less ? Last time after I got the trial map I got 16 kmpl on highway before that the worst mileage I got was 9 kmpl in City.
This mileage was in the last highway run driven by my dad, and you know the story of our dad's [;)]

But only 9 is serious concern.

Get the suspension issue sorted out in warranty.
My car has just crossed 15k.
Sure, i'll check with service center.

Err... true for everyone.
Yea

Good your Van is mile crunching very fast.
It sure serves the purpose too. For a diesel it's running like it should.

The car is now used every weekends, by me mostly where it makes some 100 kms. Dad took it many times for outstation trips which has made a significant numbers on the odo.

17000 kms Service Update:

My dad gave the car to KHT service as i had office on the weekdays.

- Engine oil was changed @1500 Rs with oil filter replaced.

- Complained about the suspension, don't know what he did, the bumpyness is reduced, however with this i suspect they did something with the brakes, the discs are eating up again. [frustration]

- The total Service bill amounted to 4150/- INR where 1200 was for regular service, 1500 for engine oil change and some thing they mentioned, rest all for labour, wheel alignments and taxes. Don't know if this is usual for a diesel car, need citation or further clarification from diesel car owners please. If the bill seems higher and not normal, That service centre will have a field day from me.

- They had re-programmed the engine which has made the car quite slower than usual and somewhat uneasy to drive for me, however now the power is gaining but the stock power and pick-up is missed.

- No mods planned as of now, will add drls in the bumper grille and change the stock wiper to boschs' because the stock ones will damage the windshield very soon.

Some photos of mine and Varun's Enjoy when they met three weeks back near Varun's residence. Pics courtesy and editing, Harsha and Varun:

Wow, 17k on odo. Your Enjoy is still looks fresh and so does Varun's.

Varun, those auxiliary lights, are Chevrolet guys ok with it? I mean the warranty issues?

Thanks Akash, Mine has just crossed 18k on the odo. Since I have wired it directly from battery without cutting any OEM wires they are fine with it. [glasses]

And for the service bill, I had to pay 1780 rs. Almost all the issues were rectified. My car has become a test car for them for all experiments and solutions.[lol]

Very good Photos from you Sir !! I read that you had a Budget of 9 lakhs right,You could get the top-end diesel.Anyway the car looks stunning and +Infinity for General Max's Comment. The car is Hugely Underrated (Maybe the Big body with Small Wheels looked wierd).I feel that It scores as good as the Ertiga !! Didnt you lose your warranty on the Mods sir ?? Thank you

Thank you Akash, the car serves our purpose very well. Varun carries out modifications without affecting the warranty [;)]

Sure, will post it sometime by this weekend.

Also why 1200/- was charged for paid service ? How many free services Chevrolet gives?
The service center gave only 2 free services from the day the vehicle was purchased, so 1200 goes for paid service.

Perfect Statement, This car was bought according to my needs, personal as well for family purposes. GM released this just to compete with Ertiga which isn't but to pull some cabbies, however they have to stop Tavera for that.

Absolutely agree this is one underrated car which GM too isn't intrested to see it on roads.Good to see your both superbly maintained rides together.
Thank you Vijay. They have tossed the car just to gain the market share that's all, which doesn't happen

No Sir please, im not that big to be called a sir :P,

I didn't find the Top end to be that VFM, moreover the difference between base model and top end was 1.50 lakhs higher and we got more than what we had asked for in the base variant itself, another point was that our initial budget was 7 lakhs, which was then extended for this car. I didn't like the nippon's music system and alloy wheels in the top end trim which was why the top end was not considered all round.

The only advantage which enjoy gains over ertiga is space, RWD and lesser priced in the segment, else Ertiga is the clear winner.

Not concerned too much with the warranty dear friend, if you go behind warranty, you won't enjoy the ownership of your car. So im content with what all i have done and i'm enjoying every ride each time.

Re: SilverBoy: My Chevrolet Enjoy LS - Initial Ownership Review

Hi Folks,

Sorry for being very inactive in this forum, let post some recent photos and updates.

Updates:
* Ran 26k odd kms and will reach 27k by next week.

* Serviced last month with Engine oil Changed, Brake Disks replaced in warranty and i paid for brake shoes as the vehicle had run more than 20000 kms.

* Of late the car is being used solely by me and the mileage figures has come around 17 kmpl in highways without a/c which is quite satisfactory.

Some info.

The OE brakes and tyres in this car are very much down market in this car, hence need to carefully drive in highways and need much of planning while braking in short distances.

Now-a-days there is a mixed driving in cities and highways, because of its narrow build im able to zoom(not fast or rash) inside cities which is quite satisfying except at highways where lots of body roll felt in the last row.

Suspensions are average and too bumpy in the last row when negotiating pot holes and road humps.

A/C as always been a chiller and does the job effectively, since this is winter not using it much.

The beige interiors has soiled and i need to take it asap to 3M center for interior cleaning.

Lastly, im still amused with my car and frequent trips with friends and family in this car has made wonderful memories and yes im enjoying each and every ride in it!

Photos in the recent trip to Ooty(Mettupalyam-Kothagiri road 2 weeks back) in first 3 photos and bandipur in the 4th photo and B.R hills(Last Sunday)

Hi Vishwas...

Nice to see an update.. The bumpiness would be reduced when you swap the tires with better ones. Brakes nothing to comment about same in my car too. Anyways we have adjusted the way it works.

Mine has just crossed 21k kms now. Service is due at 22 k kms.

Hello, sorry for very late reply, yes I'm selling due to a need of Automatic as my father these days is finding it difficult to shift gears and to de-press the clutch, hence I'm planning for an AT vehicle.

Car has run 38k odd kms until now, there are some minor issues and niggles like water seepage in blower units, small issues here and there.

Serviced lately and changed the Engine oil and oil filter, replaced clutch and pressure plate.

Replaced stock JK's to Yokohama Earth1, it's giving a better grip and ride is matured to a lot extent. There's not much difference in steering play and not hard too.

Here are recent pics:

Hello people,

A news to share,[cry]
The car left my heart on 3rd Dec 2015 and went to its another owner. Had to part with it due to several reasons. Had run 40k on the odo.

The main reason in particular is because of the weakest brand functioning in the country where I wasn't in a position to maintain it in a condition that I wanted it.

Anyway it has been the best buddy for my trips, a perfect weekend getaway car with joy in each passenger's face.

There was always a second thought in my mind of the about to happen breakdowns which was making me quirky to continue. So there it goes.
