Good luck on the install buddy.
1. Installing a Kill switch on Proejector high beam function (Solenoid) will be a childs play. I have installed such kill switches for my High beam assists. you need a small switch in series with the positive wire that we will tap from high beam wire.

2. I guess LED those bulbs failed to work in projectors because you got COB style, wide-chip LED bulbs, which do not offer the proper alignment and filament length with focal points of the lens. 2~3 Members on this forum did the same mistake. I do not remember if I had a discussion with you on this subject matter or not.

There was one fellow with Ciaz projectors. Finally I suggested him to do the same as you did- move COB LED bulbs to high beam and get proper HID for low beams.

@samkat1, I'll check your links tomorrow. Meanwhile, Please post a pic of your headlamps from front to help me understand their pattern.
I was not aware that COB style chips would make that much difference. They are working fine though with the reflectors...though the throw is shorter compared to the halogens, the spread and brightness makes up for it.
Will keep in mind next time.

The pics below shows the difference between the low and high beams. Mobile camera which changes the settings automatically doesn't provide a clear picture though.

Hi guys,

I have a optra Magnum diesel and want to upgrade my headlamps as the focus is very bad though I have put osram night breaker lamps I'm not really satisfied with the lamps. I thought of getting additional round lamps but felt that would change the look of the car

I was looking at some led lamps to replace My headlights but am unable to decide what to go with.

Check out this recommended store on AliExpress. Find great products at low prices!

Projectors will not have an H4 bulb. Usually its H7 or H1.
Please consult your User manual for info.

Warranty treatment depends upon the Dealer/Brand but without wire cutting you should be mostly safe. A 35W 4300k HID bulb fits the bill perfectly.

Hi Anrasg,

Creata SX+ with projector setup have 9005/HB3 in their headlight and H27/880 in their fog light.

Creta with projectors uses HB3 type bulb. Only the shield in the projector controls low/high. If your not looking for expensive upgrades, get the Philips Xtreme Vision Halogen bulbs-they should offer you marginal improvement over the stock bulbs.

These projectors are not designed for HID/LED, so your beam pattern will be deficient.

Best option, swap Halogen projector with a bixenon/biled Projector

Viky, the said bulb is lacking Glare shields and LED positioned sideways means that beam pattern might be quite messy.

Now coming to install its as simple as installing any regular H4 bulb. Remove the LEd bulb ring and install it first. Then screw in the LED bulb. Take it to any normal dealership they should be able to do it. Dust covers can be installed, atleast in my setup its not hampering the LED performance (tested 5 hours drive)

Thanks tdautoz.
Can you suggest a good bulb to get a good improvement in light.
We have installed many HID and few LED's as well in the projectors and the output turned out to be satisfactory as per the comments of customers. Infact, they are very happy with the performance. If your driving is mostly on highway then you can go for HID and LED would be perfect in case you are more concerned about the light color temperature and good amount of light in the front. The only drawback is the distance covered is a bit less as compared to HID but would be way better than halogens. The advantage of LED would be strict color temperature and instant start.

Hope this helps.

hello kk and alpha,
please find point wise reply as below.

1. the bulbs I've suggested are led. halogens is outdated today.
2. I do not suggest high wattage halogens to anyone as pitfalls are many. the higher heat will yellow the glass and added wattage will frail the battery. even with relays.

3. going for halogen upgrades like osram Philips etc is a half baked approach at half the price of proper upgrade. you'll again find the itch to redo the upgrade in 6 months.

in short. these upgrade are not great.

4. the led bulb I've selected are not white. they are 4300k. which is warm white, closer to sunlight.
Hi bhvm

I have come upon this thread after reading through multiple posts - and I must say it looks like you have done your research well in the matter of headlamps. I am in this same boat as you have outlined here - I have a Pajero Sport (H11 low beam, HB3 high beam). I had upgraded my lights to Osram NBUs about two years ago, and now am looking to upgrade to LED (over HID, as per my limited knowledge - where LEDs seem to be more reliable, energy efficient, and maintenance free). I looked up the tdautoz ebay site which you have offered for HID kits - sadly the seller doesnt exist anymore.

Request of you:
1. for LED headlamp (only my lowbeam - H11 with Pajero Sport projector), which ones would you suggest?
2. For HID, which would you suggest?

Any comparison perspective (including price, longevity, performance, etc) between these two would also be very welcome. Thanks
