Re: Powered By M-Hawk: Mahindra Scorpio SLE. 4 years and 60000+ km

Not really. Why?

Update:

I am still awaiting the ABS control module which is expected to arrive today /tomorrow.
The following parts were dectected as the culprits.
  • A front RH ABS sensor costing around Rs.3500 + labour
  • The ABS control module costing Rs.32000 + labour
Today I am told that all these expenses will be done FOC as a goodwill gesture even though my vehicle is out of the warranty period.

I do know that this issue shouldn't have been there in the first place. But this gesture shown by Mahindra to respect and support its customer to this extend is commendable. Mind you my Scorpio is 4.5 year old and the extended warranty was exipred last July.[thumbsup]

The journey with this Mahindra , my M-hawk will definitely continue [embarass]

The vehicle should be ready by tomorrow. Will update then.
The ABS control module was never the culprit i guess.
Somehow it was supposed to be ABS wire harness.

Anyways its good that M&M intervened.

Good to see you happy.

From next time don't replace the bushes so often, because the OEM fittings last long.

Just tell the service centre what you want to change.

ODO: 67701 km

The long ordeal seems to have come to an end.
A big thanks to the Mahindra Customer Care Area Manager and the SM of ITL Motors/Trissur for being prompt and professional.

The ABS control module has been replaced and the brakes bled. The vehicle was washed and the pre-invoice was sent to me for approval.

  • As posted earlier all the works related to the ABS was done FOC including the labour.
  • Other works included the sheduled 70,000km,
  • Suspension stabiliser bar links & bushes replaced [asked by me]
  • the LH power window motor replaced [asked by me]
  • Replaced two Rear wheel brake cylinder assemblies [as detected at service]
The total damage: Rs 12356.52

They had a driver ready to drop my vehicle back home today itself. But since it would get darker after a 2 hour drive from Trissur to Palakkad, I have told him to send the vehicle tomorrow morning.

I could be wrong, but the Torture wax product image you’ve attached these all like fake product and not original Torture wax. I’ve been using this and Torture wax is a US manufactured product and it should have a importer sticker if you brought this in India. Also these packaging are not original. Both the wax and scratch remover looks not an original product. Be careful in market, there have lots of fake products.

Soumen, Whats Torture?

Its Turtle products.

Mine has been purchased from US.

And Manoj has purchased them in China, as he stays there.

May be he is planning to bring them to India during his visit.

Sorry, my bad. Yes its Turtle. Yea but that Chinese product not looks original. The original Turtle wax brand name and packing is different. Earlier I too got from US directly.

Thnaks for your concern.
As Mukesh has already said, me being based in China these days, got these from turtlewax.cn from a reputed store and not bought any Chinese stuff online that are being shipped to India.

This could very well be a counterfeit as well, but definitely not a "Torture".[;)]
If I get time, I may play around with this procedure and confirm whether it is original or not, to quench your concern.[:)]

BTW, can't wait to get my hand on my beast again. Have planned a short visit to India, not sure how many trips I can squeeze in due to time constraints. [embarass]

Re: Powered By M-Hawk: Mahindra Scorpio SLE. 4 years and 60000+ km

Good to see some updates.

One question why are the OEM nuts of tyres has been replaced by these?
Since its SLE, it didn't come with alloys.I got the alloys later on and it could be that the OE nuts which came with steel wheels have been retained.
Superbad could clarify, since he too has a SLE variant.

the ones at the wheels cap are chrome but they are not the real nuts.

but you should have opted for the Vlx variant nuts along with the alloys.

the steel nuts look out of place on the alloys.

Got all those steel nuts and bolts silver played. Now looks very much synchronised. The gold finish on the "Scorpio" name is back in silver now.
The beast deserve a dedicated photoshoot and share pictures after that

The beauty in black is very busy taking us to various trips. Already covered more than 1000 km in total. In return, I make sure that the beast is very well taken care of.
The following were done:
  • DIY-No more noise from these storage areas and looks neat too.
  • 3M Anti-rust underbody coating.
