Rajasthan beer truck accident: Jeep Compass takes a hit

A truck carrying beer rammed into Kishanganj toll plaza in Rajasthan and spilled liquor on highway. As the truck slammed into the toll booth at Jaipur-Ajmer highway, there was a splash of beer all over the place and a large number of cartons were strewn across the site of the accident.

At least one person was injured in the accident. A video footage of the incident showed a speeding truck crash into the toll booth, which was wrecked due to the impact of the hit.

Ten of a family dead as car rams into truck at Rajnandgaon

As per preliminary information, when the driver of the sports utility vehicle (SUV) tried to overtake another vehicle, it collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction near Somni village, around 55 km from here, he said. Nine people travelling in the SUV died on the spot while another person succumbed to injuries while being taken to a local hospital, the official said.

Reminds me of the CIAZ Vs Nano. Nano had rear ended a CIAZ and the sedan was almost busted from rear but Nano had a small dent on the hood and small scratch on bumper. This time Swift rear ended Nano, the Swift went bust. Nano's boot has taken the impact well. Maybe there is certain level of reinforcement done post the crash test of Nano few years back.

Swift is a safe car. However taking a close look at the images reveals something stunning. The swift has already leaked coolant. Who knows what else might have conked off in the engine or even entire engine would have moved from the mounts.

This makes the swift Undriveable. You certainly do not want this to happen on a Unscheduled Road or Bandit areas. The Nano on the other hand, is pretty much OK and would take one home.

This is the usual story with all Maruti Vs TATA cars generally speaking.

Maruti cars are very eager to absorb the Main force of an impact and crush the crumple zone.

Please make the car stronger enough to withstand these smaller impacts without much of deformations.

Can't believe that a Nano had withstood that impact from swift.

TATA motors must bring in new gen Nano with bigger 1.0 lt engine, with better build quality than the present one to take on their rivals. TATA should continue to sell the Nano even when the sales is low because now more customers are getting inclined to products made by TATA than any other company's product.
