@ Cool Dhaya: I was travelling alone from chennai to pondicherry and this happened at kalpakkam. It costed me Rs. 4,50, 000 and 45 days to get this back on to its original condition and the cars has clocked 60k kms after the accident. I escaped unhurt as i had the seat belts on. I was on 140+ on the speedo when this truck came from a parking by lane on to the main road and i had no option but to hit it.
That is good that you used your seat belt
and double credits to you and your car as
You were able to drive them
Your car was in running condition.
Since as you are in body shop and painting business of car , dont you feel the repairing amount is on high side.

Two killed as car, bus collide

CHENNAI: Two persons including a woman were killed in a road accident on Sunday after the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a speeding bus on Boat Club Bridge in Muttukadu, on East Coast Road.
The condition of two other passengers is said to be critical.
Sources with the Adyar Traffic Investigations indentified the deceased as Nandini Das (36), a resident of New Delhi and car driver Raji (24), a native of Tirunelveli.
Nandini, her husband Antin Kumar Das (48) and their daughter Charvee Das (14) had come to Chennai on Sunday morning.
They hired a private taxi and were headed to Puducherry for a holiday. Around 1.30 p.m., the car collided with an SETC bus coming towards Chennai. The driver of the car Raji, and Nandini died on the spot.
Antin and Charvee were badly wounded and were rushed to a private hospital in Kelambakkam, police sources added. The driver of the bus Senthil Kumar (42) was arrested by police.

Dhaya as i mentioned earlier , it was 3 of them hiring a taxi and 2 person died including the driver.
and the people were not foreigners , as per this report and papers they were north Indians. we crossed the bridge at 3.15pm almost waiting for half an hour. The ambassador was like crushed by a giant elephant , nothing was on the top. The bus has front side damaged , kinda bend front panels.
