Shure, I would agree with that. But for the highway driving you terribly see the difference. If it was priced lower than many 4 cylinder diesel cars, then it would have been VFM car.
hope you know that the power to weight ratio of grand is better then many 4 cyliner cars . what it gains over others is excellent fit and finish and quality. and i have mentioned that it is a excellent city car and can do good highway trips of course it cant be pushed hard.

All the cars I've mentioned above (Except Sail-UVA) are having ABS+EBD and they are priced more or less similar to Grand i10.
but they miss many other features too . and ebd only does not make the car safe .
Well, giving a lower product and squeezing more money is nothing but cheating
.
boss whatever they are offering is open , if they dont disclose things and still sell you stuff that is cheating . you in your subjective opinion can call it not vfm but saying the company is a cheater is like going to far .
EBD is one of the most important safety features in the cars. If it lacks, yes definitely its worthless for that kind of big money.
there is no proof that its the only most imp feature.

Well, Swift is bigger car and much powered and proved engine and having ABS+EBD and Airbags. So, It's worthy.
swift is a cramped car , charges too much money , the engine has turbo lag , no features compared to grand . and power to weight ratio of grand is better then swift.
and ebd or in combination doesnt only make a car worthy . the skoda laura vRS too only has abs and no ebd.
in short each car gains and loses something that does not mean its worthless overall .

No, It doesn't matter whether I like it or not. But for that kind of price, IMO, Grand i10 is a substandard product especially considering it's a 3 cylinder diesel engine and lacking EBD.
for you it can be a sub standard product for sure . for many it can be the best one.
BTW, I'm planning an i20 diesel in the near future. But that doesn't mean, I would be biased to Hyundai and it's products.
and i think i20 is not at all a vfm product . yet feel grand is a nice worthy product specially as a city car . but it does not make i20 a worthless product because i feel its not a vfm product for other people.

Being a member of the forum like this It's our bound duty to rise our voice and alert the people.
true and also defend if a company is called cheat for no apparent reason .[:)]

Thanks for very nice conversation with you. Once again, Let's wish mbendre the very best and looking forward for his feedback/review on his car. [:)]
same here enjoyed talking to you a lot . already wished mbendre [:)]

@Raja, We both discussed some of the very valid points here. Let's see how other folks thinks about it. Perhaps a separate discussion at separate time may be. Adios.

@raaj - i was on the phone so i mistyped . what i meant was ebd can be useful but by no means omission of it and the combo of only abs + airbags is less safe ,as there is no proof that it is unsafe.

I would go with Figo. Due to the current economy, Figo is better solution because it is diesel, and like you said for yourself it is cheaper, it is saving from the beginning if you compare it to Amaze.

Hi Raja,
In my understanding, The EBD is a must in panic breaking. For More Info, You may read, HowStuffWorks "How Electronic Brake Force Distribution Works"

Also, we may further discuss on this topic in the following link as I've raised this point there.

Since there is no regulation and no law that states what equipment is standard in car, most automakers in the country charge you premium rates for safety features.

The importance of safety features always takes a back burner to things like projector headlamps and alloy wheels and sometimes even sound systems.

Looking at those figures from post#36 none of those cars seem to be a good buy since all of them are hatches and diesel prices are on the rise.Turbos do need extra care.If you plan on using your car only on the weekends petrol still seems like a better option.

But then again, if you want a diesel hatch you want a diesel hatch.Auto makers wouldn't be making the cars if there wasn't a demand for them.

Plus most manufacturers are sqeezing cars to under 4 meters due to the hike in excise duty. All the 1.6 engines and higher GC vehicles also need to pay more excise duty.

What is the government thinking?
