Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Avoid the under body too, they say they have sensors and no vw dealer does underbody pressure washing along with engine bay.
Also seen some other forum, where one guy went to 3m and after the treatment the sensors got faulty
IMO someone may misreported it over internet, i already got 3M under-body coating that too from VW dealer if this was the case then they surely will not had done that at first instance, also maximum area of Polo's under-body is covered including the crucial engine bay area so rest assure.

Second, if this holds true then one can't drive his/her Polo in monsoons [surprise]

I think this may be the case of false advertisement [roll]

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

yes rightnow, i have some issues with my car ,, but they showed me some cars and i felt the same vibrations when you switch on the AC notice the vibrations you will feel in the drivers seat ..
Yar may be its your perception that polo makes noise. May be some bitter initial experiences. When AC is switched on, I can hear addition in noise but no addition in vibrations as such.

My serious suggestion is to get an awesome ICE set up with amp, woofer etc. and play your favorite music bit loud. You won't feel the noise and vibration of engine would mix up with vibrations from woofer. Might sound funny, but I am serious and it will work.

Even I got 3M under body quoting, they are aware of the sensors and thus takes good care while doing that but trust me no VW car is ever pressure treated for the under body. In case of any doubts please ask the vw dealer.

Monsoons are ok, I was talking about the high pressured jets.

Also toughguy please see my post of the first blemish ..
Actually i used to park my car safely outside my work place
reverse.JPG
Now the police usually after completing their duty at 12 noon used to shift the bulky metal barricades very close to my car , see the pic.
I made them a request that please don't make it stand very close to the car but they denied rudely.
Resulting, I decided not to park here from next time but when i started reversing the vehicle out, i had to reverse it back in the position of arrow notified in the pic, but I dont know what happened neither I got any sound or anything scrapping , I scrapped the left side of the bumper. You can see the pic where I have covered it with a white opaque tape but its still visible.
Now I want you to suggest me something, The blemish is not harming me in any ways but trust me it looked very bad until i masked it. Now every-time i see this I kept thinking about my mistake, should I get it repainted , should i take a claim , or any touch up solutions , i dont want it to be like newly painted but if it is not visible to naked eye i am ok
Does Com-paint works??

Look the below attached pic, these spots were given by a woman driver on my rear bumper of Polo but now i convince myself and trying to live with this, in city like Delhi with largest number of vehicles (more than combined strength of other 3 metro's vehicle) one has to pay this price [frustration]

Picture 045.jpg

I suggest you to leave it like that and wait for more scratches before you claim your car's insurance. My front bumper was already painted once and replaced once still got couple of minor scratches few days back [anger]

No need to worry , either they work or not .. they dont become weak. if they would have been faulty the engine light would glow up , but next time make sure you dont get treated under body..

I am deciding to do something like this only for the front bumper .. the side tape which extends to the sides . Would look good on the white polo .. also would need to source the black strips

Ahh. That would look really cool on polo.

Get a greyish paint or dark blue paint. Jet black won't look good.

Which strips are you talking about? Skirts?

This is how it might look after mod:

And also get a similar set of alloys, and those smoked headlamps too. Would look killer.

You needn't worry, pressure created by vehicle movement above 100 mark is for sure more than what car washing center pipes can create.

Ambasodor era has now passed, in those times people can't venture out in their cars in monsoons now i am sure they also upgraded their technology [evil]

I wish something like this is available in India, would surely love to buy this one

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Actually guys after some research I think I found a clue for VW Highline remote locking.
Polo's have CANBUS security system and Re,otes are just part of it.
So if u Have a Remote and the compatible key then u can program it to Ur Polo, because it already has the CANBUS module.
See the VW Polo India Feautre list it states VW Remote Locks!

Need to try soon....

Rightclick
See the remote

VW/AUDI/SEAT/SKODA

Remote Control Programming (1997 ON)

Procedure
1. Switch Ignition ON and leave the key in the ignition.

2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the Drivers door using a second
key.

3. Using the remote control press the Unlock button once, and the horn
will sound once.

4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate the coding
procedure. The remote control will now be programmed.

NOTE : When performing programming on additional remotes the procedure
is the same, except you press the unlock button 2, 3 or 4 times for the
different remote.

For example : If programming 2 remotes press the unlock button twice with
a 1 second interval between each press, repeat for 3 and 4 remotes.

5. Switch Ignition OFF.

6. Remove key from ignition and check for operation.

7. The coding procedure can be repeated up to 4 times for additional remotes.

8. The ignition must be switched OFF between programming each remote
control.

Remote Control Erasing (1997 ON)

Procedure
1. Switch Ignition ON and leave the key in the ignition.

2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the Drivers door using a second
key.

3. Press the remote control unlock button 5 times in 1 second intervals.
A short horn will sound.

4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate memory
erase.

5. Switch ignition OFF, all remotes are now erased.

Models Covered:
· Lupo
· Polo
· Golf
· Bora
· Passat
· Sharan (Only Mk2 models as far as I know though)

P.S I HAVE TRIED THIS AND IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME AND THIS GUIDE WAS BOUGHT FROM EBAY BUT YOU NEVER KNOW IT MIGHT WORK FOR 1 OF YOU GUYS!
THIS GUIDE IS NORMALLY USED IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED A KEY FROM EBAY OR ELSEWHERE OR EVEN SO IF YOU REPLACED BATTERY AND THE FOB HAS STOPPED WORKING!
THE PART NO OF THE NEW KEY SHOULD BE THE SAME AS YOUR ORIGINAL KEY, THE NO CAN BE FOUND BY SPLITTING THE KEY IN HALF WITH A BIT OF BRUTE FORCE OR USE SOMETHING LIKE A KNIFE TO SPLIT IT CAREFULLY!
GOOD LUCK GUYS HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU

So to successfully break this u need a remote of the correct frequency and this trick

So for the correct frequency I request one of the Polo Highline Owners to help by finding the number on the chip inside the remote so u can help other TL CL owners to have remote locking.

By the way gave my Polo Diesel for 1 st service total cost abt 9000rs.
And going for those fog type DRL'S and reverse parking camera from aftermarket Tmrw.

And those DRLs, what about the chances of warranty getting? Have you taken care of this?

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

RightNow
I was talking about getting Highline type remote locking for the lower variants.
This is one procedure by which you can have Highline type Remote locking.
In order to perform that you will be needing a Remote Lock which u can easily source from the net and work out the whole thing and get Remote locking activated.
But remotes have a frequency and I don't know the exact frequency of the Indian Polo security system. So I request Highline owners to carefully open their Remote Fob and check the number on the chip so that u can help us buy the correct frequency remote and activate our remote locking in TL and CL.

And about the DRL'S there is no problem as VW people said its not an issues as far as no wires are cut.
Completed my first service and it costed 9585rs. the work was awesome but their team is very useless. They handle customers like rubbish.

Okk. I understood that. I am not sure if I can open the key fob neatly. Why don't you contact the dealer or workshop people, they might know the frequency.

About DRLs, I have read on internet that they cannot be installed without wires cut so please take extra care. It would be helpful for all polo owners if you get it done successfully.

About the service, I think the service advisors show off a bit by pretending to work, but the workshop people are really good and they carry out the service professionally. Please post details of the service if you can, to help prospective polo owners here.
