Micra has recived 400 bookings in just 12 days

It has become more a kind of “trend” for newly launched cars to be booked in big volumes than expected (hype!) but gradually it melts down. It will be a surprise for me if Micra continues to do well in market like the way it has kick started.

And i don think it will! Recently launched Cruze and beat are fine examples of this. Though both these cars had a great start finally after a few weeks they started dipping though Cruze is doing fairly well still!

Nissan is currently expanding its dealership network in the country in a phased manner. It has 11 dealerships at present which the company hopes to increase it to 20 by next month, 36 dealers by December 2010 and touch the 100 dealership mark by 2013.

Today i recieved a message from Nissan India as a response to my TD request on web. They gave me the number of their nagpur executive. I called him up and asked if Micra will be available for display or td at Nagpur to which he replied that the car can be TD by me only at Pune, but Nissan will shortly be opening its showroom in Nagpur too. So this is a good news for Nagpur, though i think i am the only one whos happy with thhis move.
I think Nissan is working hard on its only loose end "Dealerships".

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) today announced that the pre-order bookings of the soon to be launched Nissan Micra has crossed 1000 in just four weeks since the bookings began at the company showrooms from last week of May 2010.

Nissan Micra has so far clocked 1049 pre-order bookings until closing hours of June 21, 2010. In the cities, Delhi leads the race closely followed by Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Chennai amongst others.

He told me that the paper work is over but the construction work is still in progress and it will take 3-4 months to start the operations.
About the test drives he told me to have one i will have to visit the Pune Dealership.
