Re: Next Generation Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire Launched
Nice info mate. But the issue is that as the plant is currently shut they don't have any information about VIN or the chassis number .
In the first week of every new month the dealer sends booking data to company and a fresh lot of cars are allotted to the dealer based on the bookings received in previous month.
When I got informed about it I asked it with the higher authority (assistant GM to be precise) and her answer was also the same that they only get the VIN number when the car is in transit and hence she cannot tell the it.
The details are sent by company to dealer as soon as the car is allotted to the buyer. If I am correct, you booked your car after about 10 days of launch. So if in May end you have booked it, then now it's June mid and the cars that were pre-booked(prior to launch) have started to get delivered already. So, I don't think allotting a car is that big a deal. The dealers often don't share VIN easily. It happened with me also but I eventually managed to get the same and inspected the booked car and on the spot rejected it as well. The dealers shy away because they try to push a pre-launch manufactured unit in early months. BTW, which dealer you are dealing with? If you feel its OK, then PM me the details so that we both can speak and sort the issue with the dealer.
She confirmed me that my car is ready to be dispatched and as soon as the plant opens, she will confirm me the delivery date.
How come? If she can't give VIN, how come she knows that? How is she sure that your car will be in transit on 19th once the plant opens?
Now I think something is fishy here. If my car is ready then how come they don't know the VIN? Also as the plant is currently close how can she confirm that the car is ready?
That's all crap she is talking. Just avoiding you so that you don't go and check out the vehicle prior to delivery.
Now what I think the matter is that they will try to give me a car which is opened at there dealership. Now why I am thinking this is because of the above questions. How come she know that my car is ready? What do you think mate?
They plan to push either a pre-launch batch unit to you or a defective unit or may be a car for which the sales didn't go through.
Don't opt for any excuse. Ask for VIN, Do the PDI and then only go ahead with payment.
