wow. looks just awesome. may be most of you don't like the front. but i just love it. a very good design for the wagon-r.
I agree completely with you!! I also like the new design a lot better than the current model! The top-model now comes with ABS and rear wipers too!! So any price hike??

And its good they have done away with the annoying falling off badges!! The embedding of WagonR on the chrome plate looks good!!

Some update -

It comes with Bharat IV compliant KB series engine of 998 cc, developing 67 PS or 50 KW of power at 6200rpm. The engine is exactly the same as that of Maruti A-Star. The smooth pick up will always be the highlight of this Wagon R, too. The guaranteed CNG system is installed in this updated version.

The alterations made for the new Wagon R include the new tail lamps, bigger and stylish headlamps and new front and rear bumpers. It comes with the new front grilles with the chrome inserts. The new interiors incorporate the new door trims, new upholstery, a different centre console design and automatic climate control system. It has new tail lamps, doors, door handles and steering wheel. It comes with ABS and airbags, along with the other luxury accessories.

The new Maruti car looks very good, compared to the previous version. The fuel efficiency of the vehicle is14.15 Kmpl.

The car will be available in vivid range of colours including golden, silver, pink, purple, etc. The variants of the new Wagon R include R Vxi, R Lxi, R Ax, R Duo and R Lx.

The price of the car will be 4,50,000 (Mumbai showrooms).
Isn't it costly?

Yes very costly , but it has the improved features and it is conflicting directly with the Swift!! Many people will prefer Swift instead!! And i also assume it is the price of the base model!

This estimated price appears to be for the top – end VXi version and what’s the AX, Is the Automatic Transmission wagon-r coming back? Also, Did someone noticed “guaranteed CNG”. Maruti will offer CNG in all versions, even for those who don’t need it? This article looks to be prepared in a hurry. Let the official word come out.

Yes but there is also the Duo and so most probably the CNG must be fitted in that only!!

And its hard to imagine the Wagon R in pink!![lol]

Pink, eh? Hope it'll be a light metallic pink color or possibly something like we see on Estlio? The new Wagon-R is most likely going to launch on 23rd of this month.

Maruti invests Rs 290 cr on new WagonR, launch by month-end

Economictimes
The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Saturday said it has invested Rs 290 crore in upgrading its hatchback WagonR that will be rolled out from a new platform with a new engine by end of this month.

The company has stopped producing the 'Duo' variant of the existing WagonR, which has both petrol and LPG mode.

"This (new WagonR) is not a minor change, but a full model change. So, lot of investment have gone for it. We have invested about Rs 290 crore for upgrading the model," Maruti Suzuki India Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Mayank Pareek told reporters here.

Vendors have also put in money for the project, which is additional from the company's share, he added.

Pareek said when the company does a minor facelift of any model, it costs about Rs 50 crore.

When asked about the LPG variant of the existing WagonR, Pareek said, "As of now, we have stopped the Duo and the new WagonR will only be in gasoline."

Wagon-R was already a challenge for i10 etc but just that it’s excitement went down after release of these latest products, So a facelift to bring back its presence was quite necessary. Look-wise new wagon-r seems to be good and muscular but let’s see how this facelift will be accepted by majority of public.

But the pricing seems on par with the Swift which is a huge leap forward for WagonR , will have to wait and watch the consumers reaction!
