I would suggest you to go for Volkswagen Vento. Opt the TSI one and you will thank me for sure for te rest of your life. If you want to go to an SUV, I would advise to go you for a 4*4 version, may be duster awd.

After spending years with the Ford Fiesta, you'll not be satisfied with the build quality of the 4th Gen. City. No offence meant to any City owners
If a sedan, try out the VW Vento TSI. Coupled with a superb engine, balanced ride & handling package, and ofcourse the DSG, you'll enjoy it
Also, since you have a sedan and a hatch, you can opt for an SUV this time.
If you need only a 5 seater, go for the Creta.
If you can extend your budget and need a 7 seater, go for the XUV 5OO. Its worth the every penny you spend!

Cheers !

Almost all the cars in this budget have been mentioned here by fellow TAI ger s notwithstanding the fact that OP needs good GC.

Vento, verna, Rapid GC is not good in Indian conditions.

the gc numbers doesn't matters. the person driving any car should know how to apply brakes before a speed breaker or a big pothole and how to accelerate after.
don't know about actual numbers but rapid seems like a car with good gc.

ps : my verna has scrapped just once on a big speedbreaker with 6 guys. just to be safe asked all my friends to step out

As Vaishak said,
After driving Fiesta Duratec engine, you won't be satisfied with City's Ivtec engine,as in figures itself it's a 1.5 L engine .
Also Fiesta is a benchmark in handling .

I had posted this earlier ,repeating the same-
Fiesta-Enthusiast's ride
City- C segment king

The one ride you can expect a fresh feel is Vento Tsi.
Don't worry about maintenance and Volkswagen emission issues-
With these cons they are giving the ride with Max-Features and at Minimum rates.
Skoda and Volkwagen are 2 brands who give Maximum Maintenance packages.

7 Speed DSG- If used in right manner ,no doubtedly is segment best.I haven't driven Vento TSi,but with my experience in Polo GT-TSi, When using Manual Tiptronic mode ,its so slick to overtake fellow rides and the engine loves to be revvd up, MID RPM's are best.
In D mode- Just took foot off brake pedal, car coasted neately ,like experience we get when we leave foot off clutch with diesel, the torque output is good.

In S mode- Its a fuel burner, but its what gives the Maximum output of power.

Cons i felt in Polo- Steering Feedback ,it was light(Not to my taste- I felt Swift's better)

Guys, I am also in the same dilemma . I own a Ritz Vxi 2010 model now. I want to change it. My monthly usage doesnt go beyond 1000kms. I am a petrol head, but everybody insisting me to go for diesel. Any car I buy it must be fully loaded with features, either top variant or just below. My budget is Max. 13 Laks (on road). Right now my options are
1. Ciaz ZDI+
2. Honda City Vx petrol
3. Hyundai Creta SX petrol
4. S cross 1.3 Alpha diesel

I always like to travel and drive in high position, not in low position as vento thats why i exclude vento from list. Please help me. Or I need to wait for Honda Brv and Brezza any update regarding its launch soon

what about VW Vento TDI DSG Highline.
Vento TDI is the best diesel. And rapid too. However there are many reliability issues reported by owners with the DSG gearbox. Hence I would suggest manual which is fun to drive. And maintenance of vw and Skoda is slightly high..

As you don't want a low seating position, city and ciaz are ruled out. So the better option would be creta petrol. You are looking for a high seating position and also OK with diesels, why can't you also have scorpio as an option.

if i want a automatic sedan which is the best i need mileage as well as performance on highways.
The best would be dsg gearbox. It has an awesome performance and a good mileage too. The gear shifts are lighting quick.

The next in line would be cvt gearbox. It has a commendable performance. It is good for city drives and also for sedate highway drives.

Vento TDi with DSG,what else to say - Best in Segment [;)]

Nothing is changing except the engine is diesel,in regard with gearbox no issues.ACtually VW is giving warranty for DSG setup also ,i think it won't fuss you, unless you treat it so badly.

One doubt Mr.Fiesta ,As you have other 2 cars why a diesel, it will further push the maintenance cost.
Volkswagen service interval is 1 year or 15000 km, for that i think with your other 2 rides, petrol is good.

the Manual transmission, good GC i.e 170-185mm, good after sales and service, hassle free ownership. i think The XUV5OO, Ciaz, City and Vento would be the best option right.

Go for S-Cross 1.6 as Maruti had reduced the prices of it.

Now,S-Cross 1.6 Zeta in Hyderabad costs ₹11.37L ex showroom and 1.6 Alpha costs ₹12.13L ex showroom and 1.3 Alpha costs ₹10.7L ex showroom.Tamil Nadu prices are similar to Telangana prices.

Even I'm tempted to buy one S-Cross 1.6 Alpha by replacing our 2012 Vento TDI soon after seeing new prices. But,as traffic in Hyd city is increasing,it's high time to buy an Automatic car this time.

Vento GC is 165 mm,
Correct me if I am wrong.

However, my friend's Vento underbody at rear was scrapping on bumps with 4 people on board, he had to get polyurethane cushions installed on the suspension springs.

Then it's better to go for a high GC car because the road here in Coimbatore is really worst especially in R.S Puram I think a creta, S-Cross or a Duster would do am I right.
