2. Same with XUV. They are playing safe by keeping em on sooner than leaving you in dark.

Better safe than sorry. It's just annoying that our fellow drivers blink their lights at us to remind the headlights .

3. problem is stock android player. Get playerpro and there is a world of difference. The 10 Band EQ is marvelous!

Thanks for this app, I too will give it a shot. I have been using Poweramp for quite sometime and love it's sound quality and limitless feature list.

@ krishna - i was parallel parking and you know how it works. first gear - reverse - first gear - reverse. thanks for all you help but there's something wrong with the reverse gear which i will report at the first service.

@ bhvm - i did download it but it will take some time to see the difference. will update.

i wasn't planning on adding seat covers but due to lack of comfort i am thinking of doing the same.
there's a good shop which does interior customization plus seat covers. will take a quote for both and decide later if i opt for customization as well.

hyundai provides 3 options for elantra interior. ALLBLACK , BLACK - BEIGE and BLACK SILVER.







now mine is all black but with silver colored roof lining plus the pillars are also silver colored. what color seat covers should i opt for now ? BEIGE , BLACK OR SILVER ?

take a look at this car. beige interior but silver roof lining. does it look odd ? please ignore the overdone beige.

May be a slight alignment issue with reverse shift lever or fork. Even shifter cable or bush can cause this trouble. I suggest you to get this issue resolved at your earliest convenience.
Do update if this issue is solved.

I would prefer black first, next silver. I would never opt for beige for back interior.

now i am thinking to get the same seat covers with the red stitching with extended under thigh support.



what autocraft did on another car - under thigh support. will also ask them if they can extend the fixed armrest as well.


will go today or tomorrow to get the quote.

For me black interior of hyundai is very beautiful.

today i saw the elantra sport interior

elantra sport is a very beautiful car. It was love at first sight [youtube add] for me . Hoping that they would release that car soon in India.

Just make sure that they use good red stitching threads.

Congrats on your Elantra and a very neat overview of your experience. One comment on your "Dislikes" about the car

.........5. The door lock button besides the door lever doesn't operate locks for all the 4 doors. if i use that button only the driver's side door gets locked. In verna all doors get locked from the driver's side. have to use the different button provided near the power window which i previously used only for unlocking the doors.

In my dzire it can be programmed from the settings stalk switch on the IP console. You can program to auto lock/unlock all doors and/or lock/unlock passenger/driver both or driver.

Pleas do check your manual.

I like dual colored interiors.




I am reluctant to buy the leather covers just because of the heat. I have changed steering's plus the seat's position. Will check if it's comfortable or not.

@ fusion - thanks for your wishes. I checked the manual but i couldn't see any settings related to the same. The settings can be changed in the upper variant having the supervision cluster.

Filled petrol today and the mileage came out exactly as before. But this trip did include a highway ride of 80 kms but with spirited driving.

Got the first service done today. (2 months completed)
Attaching some underbody pics i clicked. Sorry for bad quality , the car was not that high on the lift.
















The customer lounge has this huge standie saying "we use 3m products"


I guess 3m got new packaging.


when i confronted the advisor about the same he started muttering something. After 2 minutes he asked one of the cleaner to use this product. He was going to buff it with a wet rag , i told him to get a new dry microfiber. He did.
I again asked the advisor about 3m , he said they use it only for buffing and polishing.






They use the same dirty sponge to clean the tires , outer plastic parts and as well as the interior. Yuck. I told the cleaner not to clean the interior with that sponge and polish.

I wouldn't have been such a pain in the ass but why the hell they have that huge standie if they don't use 3m products. Going to report this to their customer care. Ford used 3m dashboard polish when i got the last service done from them.

Latest odo reading. Have been driving the figo for the past week. The mileage will take a hit his time. Lots of idling.

In one way I am happy that even Hyundai is not good as expected in cleaning area. Using wet rags and unknown chemicals is no different than Tata. Please do follow up on your escalation, you guys demand the premium service when you are paying a premium for it.

Ford's cleaning is definitely better.

Yesterday got a call from the advisor that he's at my home because of the complaint i made. He wanted a signature that he visited the home and we are satisifed with the service. He Gave me a complementory perfume and an idol and told me the 3m products will be available this week.

Let's see what they do.

I asked the mechanic if he did something or not. Advisor sat in , mechanic changed some setting by opening the hood ( a wire setting)
But they still haven't been able to solved it.
Hoping it gets solved after driving a little more.

1st gear in my XUV is quite hard and they have'nt been able to do it all these 68K Kms. I guess these things are poor design.

^^ so i guess i have to live with that. Today also gear was getting stuck.

This tankful gave a mileage of 7.6 kmpl approx. Idling to be blamed. The car takes in 35-36 liters at the quarter mark.
