So what do you guys think on replacing the current jazz hatch and tail light section with the prev gen design? Will it make jazz a much better looking car??
+1 to Vishwas, See, the rear profiles as you know are different for both Jazz models. Fixing the old-gen tail lights in present Jazz is not feasible since it would not structurally fix in the new grooves. Fixing anything other than what's provided by OEM often cancels the warranty claims. Best is if one does not prefer the rear looks of the Jazz, and that is a sort of prime concern for buyer then one should move on and buy the design that shall please the eyes.

No no no. a very BIG NOOOOOO!!!! You guys have misunderstood what I meant. I don't own a Honda Jazz. Let me make it simple. "How the current gen jazz would have been, if Honda maintained the prev gen jazz tail lights as it is (may be with a LED treatment) on current gen Honda Jazz ?"
Note : I feel the current gen Jazz hatch section is overdone. No offense meant to owners.

Oh well, the post made us think that you were thinking crazily about replacing the boot door! (no pun intended).

If you ask me the current Jazz has overdone exteriors, the previous gen will still be the loved one and maybe forever be an hot hatch.

I 2nd your opinion now. When I wrote about the new Jazz, I specifically mentioned about the new Jazz tail lights too.

The tail lights might distantly remind you of the CRV or the Volvo SUV lights.

And also, Honda could have removed that fat chrome strip running along the width of the car (hatch section). But Honda could not be blamed on the same. Because in India even a Rolls-Royce without chrome treatment would be regarded as non-premium!!!![;)]

Note : Yes, I don't like the fat chrome grille that my 4th gen Honda City is wearing. But I like the current gen Honda Jazz's grille.

For how long you have own the new jazz, and how is your experience so far with the car?

A mini review would be welcome.[embarass]

Another quick question.

I test drove both the Jazz & the Amaze. What the salesman told me was absolutely right- if you want comfort & features go for the Jazz & if you want dynamic driving & performance go for the amaze. The amaze feels more road connected whereas the Jazz just seems to float but the one i drove seemed to crash through potholes. Also, the jazz is more easy to get into & out whereas the Amaze is a much lower car like the brio its based on

We are currently thinking of cancelling the deal because of a new car coming in the market. BALENO
The Jazz is my first choice, but we are still deciding over it because of some things I heard about the car like poor performance on hills, etc., etc.. One person on Team-BHP claimed that Santro is better than Jazz at climbing hills.
[confused]

Correct, my Father said this the first thing when he drove both cars, he said that Amaze is very responsive on road than Jazz and Jazz feels like it's out of breath at low gears, the pick up is what he mostly complained about.

Another thing I wanted to ask you guys here is whether you got the Handling Charges waived off from the dealer or not?

Klooney,
If you are in the in the waiting period for the Jazz, dont cancel just yet. The Baleno will launch on the 26th and there will be another month or so before the first impressions of that car start coming in. So you have time till your car get registered in your name to cancel the booking.

The Santro will always be better at hill climbs than the Jazz. The Jazz is a bigger car and optimised for fuel economy. You will need to use a lower gear on a hill climb.

From my experience with my Swift over the last year, every car has its intricacies. Even the same model in different trims behave differently. For that reason, always ask to test drive the same model which you are going to buy before booking. Even then, for an average user, it will be 6-8 months before you get to know the real character of your car

Regarding handling charges, you can negotiate a discount that wipes out those charges but, unless there is an ongoing offer, handling charges are not waived off. By the way, there is currently no offer running on the Jazz which is really sad

Expected delivery is scheduled on 22nd Oct [confused]

But the govt has abolished the handling charges, and many people waived those charges completely. So why are the dealers still charging them? any ideas?

How much do you rate Honda jazz? Since we go to Himachal Pradesh(Kalka, nagarkot) almost every year and sometimes remote villages, I am interested to know how well the car will do in hilly area and rocky terrain.

Well, the only way yo know how it will handle the hills is to take it up the ramp in a shopping mall where you know the ramp is steep

Was Cross Checking prices of Jazz and i20, and I was in for a surprise. The Petrol Jazz undercuts each variant of the Petrol i20. While the Diesel Jazz is slightly more expensive(2-6k) then the Diesel i20. Did anyone really notice this. I still can't believe how Jazz undercut the i20.
Price hikes has definitely contributed to this small difference. Hope the Jazz finds more buyers.
