Just for the sake of knowing, do u have any idea when the kuv100/xuv100 or whatever Mahindra calls, will be launched?
No confirmed date but expect it to come before end of 2015. I would suggest you something, if you keep waiting for new arrival now, then decision will never be made. I guess there is no point to wait for Baleno as after launch, reviews would follow and that being a new product will take time to settle in market. You may choose from the present lot of choices.[:)]

Thanks for the updates, now the hunt is to find a figo dct for test drive first. Called all dealers in Kerala and they are pretty confident they will never get an automatic test drive car. So I can book only based on reviews over internet. That's why waiting for a few weeks for first reviews to pour in.

I would advice against buying a new car within 6 months of its launch as manufacturers tend to fix any niggles in this period. Especially so in India as recalls and non-existent and SAs will simply supress any issues rather that resolve them

Honda Jazz 2015 queries

Hello guys!

I am new here, and I don't know much about cars, so I am here to help clear some issues I have with the newly launched car Honda Jazz.

We have booked Jazz I-VTEC SV MT (Carnelian Red). But when I was looking for reviews on internet, I found that there are some serious issue with the car:

1 - The Oil Sump is dangerously located and placed, as there is no underbody/Engine guard in the petrol version, is it mandatory to get a underbody cover? Any other car with no underbody protection? [cry]

2 - I have read that the conventional Fuel Tank location is somewhere around the rear axle, but Honda has placed the Fuel tank beneath the driver's seat. Is this safe for Indian roads? Which other cars, except Honda City, share the same location of the fuel tank?

3 - Is Underbody anti rust coating necessary? [thinking]

4 - I have been observing through news that the sales of Honda jazz is dwindling down. Does anybody know the reasons for the same?

My felicitates to the owners of the New Honda Jazz [clap]

My Honda CITY Ivtec is not having any engine protection either.

3 - Is Underbody anti rust coating necessary?
It is good to have it as it truly protects car from rusting and to an extent modulates the body vibrations. As you are in Delhi, you may know what sort of water quality is there in NCR-Delhi so rusting is unavoidable hence we may delay this rusting by doing anti rust coating.

Firstly Congratulations.
The Jazz is a fantastic product, I absolutely love it. I would have bought one if I had enough funds & parking space in the garage.

Regarding you're queries,
Majority of cars especially petrol ones don't come with sump guard.
Regarding Anti Rust coating, you can go for it if you use car in water logged areas.

Sales of Jazz has been down, it's got to do with more of production adjustment. And the numbers are not actual sales but shipments to various dealers in India.

Still the car is in good demand, and it is the best car in that segment now.

Looks wise it is a very stylish car, which most of its rivals also are.
Performance is also very good, petrol has strong mid & high range while diesel has superb drivability.
Ride is pliant and better then most other Honda's, and handling is good. So its good here also.

Then there are these USPs of Jazz, Space is excellent and the seats also are very good & comfortable more so the Magic Seats. Practicality is class leading, so all in all a fantastic car to have. Although most have complained about quality of Jazz, it is at par with Polo & i20. Fit & Finish is good throughout.

So enjoy you're new car mate. No second thoughts.

Re: Honda Jazz 2015 queries

so it's safe not to have an underbody protection?
Well actually its not safe but there seems to be no provision to fix an engine cover as aftermarket add-on in CITY. However, till now even in heavy monsoons here in Delhi, haven't faced any issue over the years.[:)]

It is one fantastic product indeed. Too bad you don't have enough garage storage, this car is so appealing to the eye, I fell in love the first time I saw it. Hope you will make a purchase soon.[/quote]

Congrats for booking the new Jazz. If your driving involves frequent bad roads, hill drives, It's highly recommended you go for under-body cover.Replacing main mechanicals won't be easy for your pockets.

2 - I have read that the conventional Fuel Tank location is somewhere around the rear axle, but Honda has placed the Fuel tank beneath the driver's seat. Is this safe for Indian roads? Which other cars, except Honda City, share the same location of the fuel tank?
We had Versa and Eeco where the tank was placed right below the driver seat, that's really nothing to worry about.

3 - Is Underbody anti rust coating necessary? [thinking]
It's necessary for today's cars and especially in rainy season.

4 - I have been observing through news that the sales of Honda jazz is dwindling down. Does anybody know the reasons for the same?
Simple, there are lots of competition in the segment, not to mention they are highly competitive too!

Saw a previous generation jazz at a car wash station. I feel the old jazz has got a nicer hatch and tail light design than the current one. The current front design is awesome in my opinion.
So what do you guys think on replacing the current jazz hatch and tail light section with the prev gen design? Will it make jazz a much better looking car??

It's highly recommended not to change anything pertaining to body, also it will definitely look like an odd ball as there won't be any design synchronization with retro-fixing them.
