Hi itsmejohnhcl,

Congrats for the new car. Hope to see your ownership review.

Congrats to all proud Brio owners!!

Got the delivery of my "Rallye Red" Honda BRIO SMT in the first week of April.

A Long, yet fruitful wait .. for the most awaited hatchback. Yeah, it battled against nature's odds .. and the 6 month-long wait post booking seemed totally worth it.

A Wonderful ride on the city roads, have managed to whiz past 350kms in the first month. Got the first service done yesterday.

Had a couple of queries with regards to the same;

a) Should I get a car security system installed (Autocop, etc.) or is central locking sufficient for Honda cars?
b) The FE reads 11.5kmpl (in Mumbai). Will it go up gradually as the car runs more kms??

Congrats, santoclauz.

A great buy indeed and I own an SMT too.

a) No : You don't need an autocop. They keyless entry feature comes with this version is enough. You can add gear a lock though.

b) Yes, the FE should go up.. Atleast that what I read from others reviews and hope so too. Mine is below yours though.. [roll]

Maybe John could shed some light on the FE topic .. hez goin' past 13 in d city which is terrific. Depends a lot on how you drive, is it?? (sorry for the stupid Qs).

This is just an observation, but when my wife drives the car, the FE shows 9.9 - 10.2. When I drive, it goes past 11. Ahem Ahem .. just plain observation [glasses]

During the first service, the Honda rep was behind me to get an anti-rust coating done which was costing INR 4.2k (incl taxes). Seemed a bit too much ..and I politely declined. Might get it done later from a local car service centre tho where the mechanic (a trusted one) quoted 2k. [:D]

Yes, It totally depends on how you drive.
I have been driving since 10 years at least, not saying that I am a PRO, but I try to drive most of the times in the ECO mode. Minimal use of clutch and no over revving. AC all the times, and My FE still hangs around 10. I am yet to touch 200 KMs yet, and hoping the situation improves as I clock more Kms...
