Hi,

This is my first post in TAI, and would like to thank Sudeep as his posts made our decision easier.

My father has just taken the delivery of our New Brio VMT(Energetic Blue) from the Dealer Sundaram Honda Chennai [clap].

Me and my wife(who will be driving this car) did not goto take the delivery as the Dealer had provided some wrong information [frustration].

I will post detail pictures of the car tomorrow.

I have also fixed up an appointment with Sundar of 3M Cars Santhome Chennai tomorrow and will post details of it later.

Hi Sudeep,

Thanks for your wishes as I said before this thread with lot of pictures helped us greatly.

Brio as now arrived at home and I will be seeing it only in the evening.

My only concern now is that the vehicle is manufactured in June 2012(Came to know only after the invoicing) but the dealer says he received the vehicle only in October 2012.

Is there anything I need to be aware or be prepared as the vehicle was in the yard for more than 4 months?

Hi Narenkum,

Ideally you should have checked this before the vehicle was sent for registration. You should have taken the VIN # from the dealer as soon as they allotted the car and decoded the manufacturing date, and should also have done a thorough PDI (Pre delivery inspection).

Unfortunately there is nothing much you can do apart from making sure that everything is working in perfect condition. Double check the ODO to ensure that the car hasn't been driven more than 100 Kms.

Hi Sudeep,

Yes it is a big mistake, but I checked with the SA before booking and was told that the vehicle was lifted only in October 2012 and should definetly be manufactured by August or September.

Having dealt with this same person from Sundaram Honda(Now he is a senior manager and this time only his team member dealt with me for the purchase) last year for My Honda City VAT, felt that it will be genuine and did not get the VIN number.

But only after invoicing came to know that it was June manufactured and when checked with this person, even he was shocked and I am not sure whether it was real or acting.

Anyways I have not spoken to that person afterwards and this senior manager person did not bother to call me back or convince me or atleast offer an apololgy for the wrong information.

I did not go to take the delivery of the new car more of a self punishment [cry].

People dealing with Sundaram Honda Chennai be little cautious and I have also posted this in our internal blogs and have atleast redirected 2 to 3 people from Sundaram to Capital\Olympic honda.[evil]

HI Rahul,

I am from Moosapet.

The fine will be 100 rs only upto 2nd month. Don't know the fine after 2 months. If you want i can provide you the RTA agent number.

Do you have Zero dep insurance, if so you can repaint the scratch areas.

have you purchased the vehicle from Pride Honda?

If so they will give good advise.
Hi Trivikram!!! I brought mine from Green Honda. Yes i do have zero dep insurance. Now i even have a broken tail lamp on the left side[frustration] which got hit while reversing. Do you think i can claim both the scratches and the broken tail lamp by making a payment of 1000Rs towards the zero dep insurance?

Hi Vinu,

Congrats on your new ride.
The electrically adjustable mirrors are totally worth it. Go for it, however try to negotiate with the price. I had read about this sometime back and was supposed to cost 11-12 k extra.

I wish you many happy miles ahead.
Thanks for your reply. I finally agreed to pay extra 14k but in return they promised me to get underbody coating done free of cost. So my final deal would be
Honda Brio SMT (with electric ORVM & mud flap)
Colour- urban titanium
Discounts- free insurance (12,400/-)
free underbody coating (3,700/-)
free accesories (5000/-)- floor mats both fabric and rubber, rear cargo protector. Remaining amt adjusted towards rear spoiler
Paid accesories- 5850/-

Total on-road price : 5,14,915/-

Accesories to be purchased outside: seat cover (quoted price 3,500 to 4000/-)

Hi Rahul,
If the scratches and broken tail lamp both one one side, if so we can claim. The people at Green honda service is not that friendly, they are more inclined towards the insurance people rather than the customer. Try with pride honda (Miyapur service center).

Hi sudeep,

It is clearly mentioned that no of times we can claim under zero dep policy (add on: depreciation sheild) in a year is 2 times.

But when i call to to Honda assure (180026662666) they said we can claim "n" no of times in a year bumper to bumper 100% claim irrespective of whether glass or plastic part, provided every time you need to pay processing fee of 1000 Rs.

It is not wise to think about the no claim bonus, coz for the first year it will be 20% of premium so approx it is 2400 rs. If the cost of damage is more than 5000 rs you can go for claim.

If you gel well with the service adviser (be in touch regularly) we can claim both old and current accident in a single claim (provided no rust on previous one).
Hi Sudeep,

Have you cross checked with the Honda Assure about the no of times we can claim under "Zero Dep" in a year.

I went to Green Honda today. Like you said they told me that i can claim for the broken tail lamp on the left side and the scratches on the left too by paying 1000Rs. If i want the scratches on the right to be painted i was told that i need to pay an extra 1000 for a second claim. But i felt that it wasn't necessary. I was told that i will have to wait for at least 3 days for the car to be delivered back to me. On the first day the insurance person will inspect the car by taking photos. Then on the 2nd day they will replace the broken tail light and also paint the scratched area and deliver the car on the 3rd day. In order to save time i asked them to do the first servicing of my brio during one of those 3 days. Do you thing it is necessary for me to be there when the servicing is done?

I asked the agent at green honda regarding the number of times a person can claim the zero dep insurance and he told me that we can claim it any number of times as long as we pay 1000Rs for each claim.

As i brought my car from green honda is it possible for me to claim the zero dep insurance and get other things like servicing etc from pride honda? I dont know about the service of pride honda but until now i have had a pleasant experience with people at green honda. But it is too early to say. Will see how things go with them.

Hi Rahul,
You don't need to be there for the first service, its merely like general checkup not even oil top ups. If you have any problem tell them they will rectify it.
I too purchased from the Green Honda. It is approx 34 km's (too and fro - 68 Kms) from my place, i am planning to go for the Pride Honda for next service (Reason to change the dealer is the distance to travel). Both the dealers are fine.
You can have service of Brio any where in India (Honda Authorized Service Center).

Yes, You can claim 'N' no of times.
As Rahul said, you will pay 1K + tax each time.
I asked to pay 1000 + 350 charges for honda workshop + taxes.

Is this rule to pay honda workshop rs.350 + taxes always (apart from 1000)when we claim under 0dep insurance?
