Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 5th Service Update | 40,000 Kms: Ownership Review

A dream come true !
I remember watching the Next.gen Figo review on youtube with my wife 3 yrs bck. Since then i have been closely following this thread and never missed a review video or automotive threads regarding it. Due to some financial constraints, i had to wait for 3 long yrs. In between, i had changed my mind to buy the baleno, but the reviews were so bad regarding its build quality and fortunately the figo S got launched at the same time. I badly wanted the sporty boy, but i had to wait for another one more year to come up with the finance.
Searched at the nearest showrooms and enquired even at furthest dealership by taking the advices from allhyundai and 1989rs500. Thanks for their support. The sales executive from Kairali Ford Cochin (more than 350 kms away from my town) Mr.Peter , gave me the best quotation and was very communicative through out the process. Even though there was no free accessories except mud flap and floor mat as per our agreement, he gave some accessories worth a good amount free even after the delivery of the vehicle, which usually no dealership or executives does.

Figo Sport Diesel 1.5 ( Oxford white) :-
Orginal price - 8,36,930 Onroad
Offered price- 7,90,000 Onroad ( exshowroom + RTO+ Zero dep insurance + 3rd yr ex.warrenty )
Freebies - Floor mat, mud flaps, rain visors, door scuff plates, neck cushion
Few add on's- Reverse camera with monitor ( 1600/- aliexpress + fixing 600/- )
P.S : this is my very first car in life. I had never owned a vehicle before. And im happy that, i have made the right choice by picking up this engine as my first drive.
Thanka for the compliment and we all wish you many many happy safe miles in this new car, also keep on writing in TAi on updates and on how the car is after service etc. We will try our best to assist you in case of any issues or suggestions if in need.

Congrats for your first car. I wish if Ford had removed those decals which is out of place.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 5th Service Update | 40,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Completed the 30k service of my Figo D yesterday.
Didn't have anything to report other than the missing rubber bush on right door. There are couple of rattles here and there, they do not show up when I am looking for them, so its fine.
Total bill came around Rs. 5400/-
Online Ford service calculator showed me something around 5200. I am glad that the service costs of my Figo are still within the limits.
Following parts were changed in this service:
1. Engine oil
2. Oil filter
3. Oil Drain plug
4. Diesel filter
5. Windshield Wash fluid

Diesel filter cost comes around 1100.
Air filter and cabin filter were not replaced this time, but cleaned.

This is a brilliant ownership report. I am just curious to know between figo sports edition & Freestyle titanium which would be the better pick in diesel ? I am interested in buying one.

Figo Sports - Looks more hot than Freestyle (my opinion), less features, good handler, MORE discounts
Freestyle - Plethora of features, higher GC, better NVH, better build quality, touchscreen, better MID, better gear shift feel, Nil/marginal discounts

Just my two cents...

Well the Freestyle as of now, the Figo S is superb and is anyday better drivers car than Freestyle, but the fact that the Figo line up is getting facelifted soon makes it redundant choice, the new infotainment system and feature mix makes the face lift Figo a much better car than the current one, its confirmed that Face lift Figo and S will be lainched in October 2018, so if waiting is not ann issue wait for Figo S face lift.
Otherwise Freestyle is good, Freestyle does offer some real bad road handling ability, the 189 mm GC is almsot as good as Marutis Brezza which is great , add to it the new design its a great rugged cross hatch, all that said if driving fun is priority the Figo S still beats the Freestyle.

Well the Freestyle as of now...,
Thank you for the response... I am not sure if its already discussed but can you please let me know your comments on front & rear seat comfort for long journeys ? Also is the fixed headrest sufficient for someone around 5'5 height ? I have seen in reviews that anyone more than 5'5 in height will have there neck hitting in the headrest..

Actually I inquired with couple of dealerships in Chennai but none of them have Sports edition in stock. May be they are focused more towards freestyle.

Front seat comfort is same for driver and co passenger in Figo S and Freestyle, not much of a difference, however on back seats the Freestyle will feel a little more body movements, not because suspension is harsh but due to low wheelbase one will feel more rocking motion on back seats of Freestyle.
On Figo S the back seats will feel more of bumps and gutters, and but on highway speeds both Freestyle and Figo S feels almost same,
On a short note on outright comfort the Freestyle is a little better than Figo S.

The back seat non adjustable head rests are an eye sore and does hamper comfort as well, I am 5 foot 4" tall and for me it was not a big bother but for someone taller its not at all idea for long journey s, for short journeys its fine but for long journeys one will need to adjust seating time and time again, so if I were to buy it, I would definitely think of something to deal with this.

The facelift Figo is due by October 2018, so the production of current Figo and Aspire has stopped, all thats left is redundant stock and its clearance.

Rear seats would be used mostly by my wife who is 5 foot 5'' so I think this shouldn't be a problem. Anyway I would probably wait for Aspire facelift first (any idea on launch date?) and if it is in par with Freestyle in terms of build quality & features, then I would certainly consider it since it has adjustable rear head rests & more usable boot space. I am looking to replace my Alto 800. So far i have test driven Baleno, i20, Scross & Ecosport out of which Ecosport blown me away with its sheer performance (drove TDCi for first time). I would rate TDCI > CRDI > DDIS. I was just wondering how this engine would behave in figo/freestyle with lesser body weight [:D]. Looks like TD for freestyle diesel is still not available. I have requested dealer to give me call once he receives the car.
