All the best for this one sirji.

I have only one recommendation before you go to drive the Figo
Drive, drive and only drive.
Drive the Swift, i20, Grand, Aspire and what not.

Will be awaiting a complete report on the Figo with every sort of impressions. And yes, there is always some shortage of time while going on for this one, better carry someone with you for photography.

I have already driven the Ford Figo Aspire AT and I hope @jithinmjose has read it, the Figo hatch wont be different from the Aspire sedan, the AT is a very good one infact for the money its a no brainer its that good compared to Petrol competition, but since Tata and Hyundai are offering some diesel ATs in that price range some people will sacrifice the extra refinement feel, power, smoothness of DCT for better mileage, if thats not what the user intends for but for absolute ease of driving the Ford Figo Aspire 1.5 P AT is unbeatable according to me, its too good for 9.06 lakhs On road,
The Figo hatch AT will be like 8.2-8.3 lakhs On road and for that price if petrol is what one looks for the Figo hatch AT is again a no brainer.

Thanks buddy, here in cochin we don't get any automatics for test drive. I'm strictly looking for a hatchback with auto petrol option. The choices are between jazz, figo, gt tsi. Since its for my father, performance doesn't matter much, but he do care about his wallet. So I have to consider a petrol auto with a double digit fuel efficiency at least. I think gt tsi almost rules out of that two digit FE figures. Now its between jazz vs figo.. Need to figure out suspension & handling part too. Not considering Tata since bolt doesn't have an auto and mediocre grand i10 with 0 safety stars is already in my trash. If anyone gets to drive automatic, please do compare jazz CVT vs figo DCT as I think both comes in similar price bracket. Or do u think I miss some other cars? Kwid with a 1Litre AMT with all safety was another consideration, but seems I have to wait too long for that. And I'm averse with Suzuki, I don't want to pay lakhs for my coffin. Awaiting your suggestions... Thanks.

As per Jazz AT vs Figo Aspire DCT
Engine- Ford wins
Refinement-Jazz wins
Power- Ford wins by a huge margin
Tractibility- both are easy on city but if occassionally there is a need for long trips Aspire DCT eats the Jazz for mileage and Power
Ride quality- Both are equally good in city but on highway Jazz wins with bigger tires and wider footprint, Figo hatch if it gets an upgrade to 15" wheels it will match the Jazz
Handling- Again both are good but none is fun to drive as a true Ford, but will feel safe till 140, 140+ Figo siblings needs bigger tires to match Jazzs stability.
Now the most important part Gearbox- the Ford DCT is definitely better than Jazz 1.2 CVT in shift speed, creep level, less roll back, but the only eye sore is its reliability which isnt proven, while a CVT is usually trouble free,
Mileage- the Aspire DCT and Jazz CVT will give identical overall mileage. The slight advantage still will ve with Jazz since its smaller unit,

Re: New Ford Figo Hatchback Testing Begins in India

ACI has put up the photo gallery for the upcoming Figo. Here are the observations noticed from this gallery.

1.) 1.5L Petrol with DCT is confirmed. [clap]
2.) Fixed rear headrests[frustration]. Though the design looks decent.
3.) Silver finish on the Dash instead of Piano black used in Aspire.
4.) No rear center armrest.
5.) Fully foldable rear seat backrest.

Also, they have provided the variant details. But looks like those are pure speculation as they have mentioned rear arm rest. They have also mentioned dual airbags as standard feature but we need to wait until tomorrow to confirm the same.

Also, i have enquired two dealers here in chennai who has confirmed me that they are now taking unofficial bookings for the figo. But the booking amount is different (10K vs 30K) which is fully refundable in case of cancellation.

The sites remain open for some time to check all the things and it's good to know a hatchback now will come with 6 airbags in this segment.

Re: New Ford Figo Hatchback Testing Begins in India

No ABS in the trend variant is really shooting on the foot, People spending so much for the mid variant will absolutely need ABS in their vehicle. Maybe they're pushing them to the titanium variant but still Aspire has some serious competition where the new figo is getting into a pool where nothing is new. Pricing is all key now.

One more thing I've noted is there is no mention of 1.5L Petrol engine but the automatic transmission is all over which means that the automatic variant is mated to 1.2L Engine rather than the 1.5L of aspire?

True, but its far better than having no ABS,Airbags in some of its competitors naa, I feel Ford has nailed the hatchback segment here, see if Ford had introduced ABS without airbags, there would have been more people complaining about its safety, so I stay with Ford now, fantastic job,
Even still hands crossed since all these info are pre launch info, lets wait to find out what they have been cooking, as of now it seems Fords has made the benchmark level rise way above class norms
