Hello Friends,
Finally my car gets new engine oil and I felt smoothness right after driving.
I got the Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40 yesterday (Amazon had stock in Bangalore so reached me quick). Today I thought to change the oil and drain bolt was easy to reach but the bolt was so tight that I couldn't twist a bit and I don't have breaker bar nor there is much space. May be ASC used impact wrench to tight it or due to heat it has seized. So I left it as is and went to nearby mall.
My brother saw new Bosch service center and forced me to ask them whether they change engine oil (Of course they will) and pricing. They seemed good, friendly and quoted Rs. 350. After an hour, I returned with new oil and filter. Without any delays, they started the work. First they jacked up the car and tried to remove the drain bolt but damn, after struggling for half an hour with many different tools they also couldn't remove it!
The garage had many non-repairable vehicles (Shop owner was angry because car owners were not taking the car out) and one GM Captiva was standing on repair pit. Shop owner called for several workers and pushed the SUV aside to make space for my car. The repair pit has lots of space and the drain bolt came out easily. The filter was also tight fit, they had several filter wrenches and also mine didn't help so they had to puncture it to remove. Fortunately drain bolt and washer was good. They have gently tightened the drain bolt and new oil filter. Hope they can be removed easily next time.
Next poured the new oil while checking the level on dipstick and approx 3.8l of oil went inside the engine block. However, when I returned home and checked dipstick again, the oil was slightly above the upper mark. I was not ok with it, so in the evening I went to medical shop and bought infusion set and syringe. Inserted the tube via dipstick pipe, pulled the oil using 5ml syringe and holding roller clamp inbetween so the oil doesn't return to sump. After removing 50ml of oil, it is now upto upper mark.
Thats it. This DIY was difficult then expected and really needed repair pit. Lets see what happens next time.
