Very educational DIY. Got to see the innards of the pump for the first time. Isn't it filled with oil. I mean such pumps now days have hydraulic function.
I am glad you liked it.
Its not hydraulic. Simple piston that pushes air. very simple and reliable.
I am also planning to give it a coat of good paint to make it look new!

Yesterday, I was able to fill air in Safari tyre which was almost flat (15 PSI, Rim was not touching the ground, fortunately) in about 20 mins. Talk about the hearty excersize! I have also ordered sealant for Safari tyes. Will update soon.

Yes you are right. Maintaining it will be easy. No tight seals and oils etc to worry about. Actually I was not aware about it. I thought all foot pumps were hydraulic. So learnt something new today. Thanks.

These are my pipe wrenches. The red ones are the heavy duty type. The rest of the wrench are regular stillson type.
The orange one is very unique. It is having a spring loaded mechanism. No need to tighten or loosen the lever. It adjusts automatically.
I have kept the 6 Inch scale beside the wrench as a comparison. Some of them are really large sized.

Dismantling and cleaning my bikes (discover 125dtsi) carburettor.
Of late my bike was sputtering and driving poorly. It was also leaking petrol from the carburettor itself and the average had decreased too much . I dismantled the carburettor and cleaned it up and the jets etc. They were all clogged up and dirty. Handling the whole thing is a bit tricky. The jets are very fine and small. They tend to strip the threads with even little bit of mishandling.
Will be posting pictures soon.

These are the WIP pictures.
Cleaning is going on. Float valve of the carburettor is not working.Float is broken. All the jets are clogged. There is lots of muddy grime in the carburetor.
I will have to mend too many things this time around.

As can be seen from the pictures it's keihin branded carburetor. The workmanship of the past mechanic has not been good. He spoilt the nuts and bolts of the carburettor by overtightening them. It is a bit of an issue while opening these.

All the rubber parts are brittle, as they bike is 12years old.
I have kept a separate list of the parts to be replaced.

These are the pics after installation of the carburettor (after cleaning and changing the ruined and old parts)

I Have also installed an inline fuel filter, just in case of the dirt and metallic particles coming down from the dirty tank.

Hello Friends,
Today I bring something which is not a tool to fix your car, but to fix your hunger on the move!
Yes its a mini stove which uses dry fuel cubes. Perfect for my baby daughter to have her meals on time. The Stove is foldable and can be carried away in your baggage easily. The cost was 500 from Amazon along with 8 extra fuel cubes. Enjoy!
