Update

After a long discussion today afternoon, I have conveyed my rejection for the above engine to my uncle. He tried to reason out with my dad today but even dad wasn't comfortable using an engine of a car whose history was complicated. In my last message to my uncle half-hour back, I have quoted him that after receiving feedback, "I am shutting the case of engine replacement and won't be interested in this. I don't want to ruin the leftover life of my car". So, me and my dad would be looking towards buying genuine spares from MSIL and get the same replaced. Though spares may take time to reach ASC but we are sure that we'll be going for the original spares only.

It was indeed a heart-warming feedback from all of you. Though I was in Mumbai for last 2 days but read the views and I am truly thankful to you all for giving clear and unbiased views.[thumbsup]

Buddies,

My Esteem Vxi was sent for some Body-Repair and Exhaust Assembly Replacement to my uncle's ASC earlier this week. Finally got it back today afternoon. The job was done to my satisfaction. Got the new assembly of Exhaust from MSIL. Total expense Rs. 6200/- (Including Body Repair, Exhaust Assembly Replacement & PUC). Nothing major to write about apart from this buddies.

Reason to sell off my Esteem

* It had aged now. 10.5 years, in July 2017 it would be 11 years.

* I do not want to be associated with Maruti Suzuki anymore as a owner.

* Cost of estimated repairs equal to re-sale value of the car as on date.

* True Value Dealer's attitude was simply unacceptable.

* Maruti ASC began taking advantage in spare costs due to its age.

* This sale gives me more space to evaluate the Maruti Cars in even more critical manner.

It's sad to know that you have sold this car.BTW,what's coming in the place of Esteem?I guess a bigger car would enter into your garage

I guess you will get an AT car this time.If it's AT,I would suggest you to get Vento TSI DSG as you already have City at home or get Creta or S-Cross as it will be a class above your Esteem.

I am not at all clear of what my future purchase would be as of now. Will keep you all informed in the correct thread. Its going to take time.

PS: This thread shall be closed tomorrow. Requesting my buddies, not to reply on this one as I wont be able to reply here.
