During the first service on 27 July 2018 at TAFE Access, I requested the SA to get rid of the markings on the ORVM brackets, while washing. But, he argued it won't go as they were permanent. But, today, I got rid of those markings after spending about half-hour!

900 odd kms in one day - that's a lengthy driving (presume roads were pretty good?).

Blue Di visited two Vinayaka temples at Pillayarpatti and Pondicherry on 25 July 2018, covering a total distance of 909.1 km. We - 5 adults and 2 kids - left at 3:30 am and returned at 10 pm.

Crisp travelogue there, sir. Always was a big fan of your t-logs in another popular automobile forum. Good to see it's continuing here. You're a proof that age is just a number. Very happy to see river Cauvery filled with water. Those FE figures are fantastic, considering the car was filled with 5 adults and 2 kids.

Front Fog Lamps' Cornering Assistance Feature

Since I drove with the fog lamps+headlamps on from Pondicherry to Chennai recently, I didn't experience the cornering assistance feature. I thought that this feature too got deleted like the rear 12V charger in Blue Di. Tested and found my Blue Di - XZA+ AMT D - passed. Thank god, this feature is left untouched! Fellow-Nexon owners in Facebook advised me that to activate the cornering assistance of the front fog lamps, the headlights should be on, but the fog lamps should be off. In that condition, when the steering is turned towards one side, the fog lamp on that side gets lit. The tragedy is, the Nexon owner's manual is silent about this feature!

Today, a staffer from TAFE Access service station, Chennai sought prior appointment from me, visited my home and presented this TATA Motors/vendors co-branded umbrella to me for having serviced Blue Diamond there. Nice gesture.




Blue Di still carries a similar umbrella presented to me by Concorde Motors, Mysore Road, Bangalore exactly 8 years ago during my Linea days. After Linea, my ex-XUV 500 carried it. Now, Blue Di carries 4 umbrellas totally!




A few days back, TATA Motors from Pune took feedback from me about my booking and delivery experience. I have given 9 out 10 for most of the questions except one. When I was asked whether anyone visited my home after delivery to explain the features of Nexon, I replied in negative. Then the fireworks started! I am getting calls after calls from the dealership asking me whether they should send someone to explain the features at home! I told them, no thanks. Our feedbacks are taken very seriously by TATA Motors and action initiated accordingly. I see a totally different TATA Motors compared to my Linea days 8 years ago.

I too got the same umbrella Sir but in April this year. The dealer personnel came to my home for taking feedback.

I have also experienced the same Sir with my 1 year old Tigor. Infact, I want to share here a news which I got from a close source. In Delhi, a TML dealer has been heavily penalized for putting their own executives phone number on customer satisfaction/feedback forms. This scam was busted during an audit by TML.

I am glad to learn that Nexon has scored 4 out of 5 stars in Global NCAP crash test. Here are the details. Nexon becomes the fourth Made In India car to receive a 4 star rating. Nexon is also the second Tata Motors car model to claim this honour.

A few days ago, I downloaded DigiLocker and mParivahan apps into my phone from Google Play and linked the registration certificates [RC] of my Blue Di and Thunderbird 500 [Blue Bird] and also my driving licence successfully. In DigiLocker, I could also link my Aadhaar and LPG voucher. mParivahan shows insurance validity and has provision to check the ownership details of any vehicle by entering the registration number. Yesterday, Mr Kirubakar, Customer Advisor of TAFE Access, visited me and handed over the RC [both in original and one extra photocopy]. But, I got the digital RC in my phone days before I got the RC in physical form!

This is excellent information sir, thanks but I would still suggest to keep a copy in the car, as most lawkeeper's especially up north, wouldn't be aware (couldn't care less) to make a fast buck.

Ditto in my case as the cops all over have the same mentality. Unity in diversity!

And apart from this, I doubt the data security with this app. The permissions you required to give this app are camera, contacts, phone, SMS, storage etc. So I would prefer to keep the hard copy of the documents with me. Though currently I've downloaded this app and keeping RC info. in it, planning to uninstall it once I receive my hard copy.

Chennai - Bangalore . Non-Stop Night Drive Amidst Drizzle

Blue Di took us to our Bangalore Basaveswara Nagar home safely at 5:45 am today. We left our Chennai Royapettah home at 11:15 pm last night. Drizzle gave company at many places. I enjoyed driving by sport mode mostly. The engine roar and the excellent power and torque on tap always were addictive. In sport mode, the sixth gear got shifted from 100 kmph speed, unlike eco and city modes, where the sixth gear shifted from 80 kmph speed.

The Paytm-branded FASTag worked in all the toll plazas flawlessly. Most of the toll plazas were crowded and consumed more time, especially the so-called exclusive FASTag lane due to longer queue.
