Re: My Own First Car – Volkswagen Polo

Hey all,
can any one tell me in driver side near to window there is a red sensor kind of a thing what is that?
That sensor blinks when the car is properly locked. The frequency of blink is high as soon as you lock, and it goes down gradually after some time. So, whenever you have to confirm that your car is properly locked, just check this red sensor is blinking.

Nah buddy, no indication of opened windows!! Such a feature is not present in any hatch or any lower end sedan as far as I know. It may be there in high-end luxury cars I guess.
If you forget to roll up the windows, then you are left at your own risk. So, be careful whenever you lock the car, check that all the windows are up properly. Especially when you have passengers at back seat, always check the windows while locking the car.

The red sensor will blink when 'all doors are locked'. So, in a scenario when windows are down but doors are properly locked, the red sensor will still blink. And also keep in mind that if windows are rolled down, anyone can open the car by putting hands inside even if the car was locked by you. So, to keep your stereo and other things safe, please always roll the window up properly.

Hey Strikezoom,
I have instructed the shop keeper and persons working in my car for installation of all things that dont even think of cutting any wires. I said if some thing cant be installed we will look for alternatives but dont even splice the wires. they used sockets for all instalations.

Re: My Own First Car – Volkswagen Polo

are you guys satisfied with the throw of the headlamps.
have anyone of u upgraded them?
two weeks earlier got delivery of my vento tdi HL, after taking her on highways i found out that headlamps are not at all good for highways, so just confirming if polo got the same problem..
No..Stock headlamps wont give us the result in highway for Polo .
I changed to Philips Extreme vision 60/55 ( cost 1200 for pair) . Giving better brightness and reach .

Its you who has to observe whether you are comfortable in reversing. If not, then you should install reverse camera with sensors. It may cost your around 4k (guessing)

Hey right now,
i dont have issues in reversing only once i slightly dashed at passenger side to a door in a building parking that to because a bike came from left. Otherwise no such issues.
I have enquired about leather covers will cost around 5.5K.
Only concern is leather will get heated up in parking at office which is open and completely exposed to sun.

If you are comfortable then you should not install any parking assistance things. For seat cover also, I would suggest you to wait for few more months. If your setas are really dirty, then only go for them.
I have not got any seat covers on my 11 month old polo, only dry cleaned it once, and the seat covers look as good as new. So, you can save enough money as of now and get better seat covers later may be after two years.
