My ALBUS looks extra ordinary now, with enriched & enthralling interior!
My much awaited ICE reached me. I paid 320 dollars (Appx. Rs.20K), received it at my daughter’s Dubai address to get it without custom duty. The pack is so big, my eventual Son in Law carried like a baby and safely handed over to me when he came to India.
The unit was as described, beautiful dark grey metallic type finish, though made out of a good quality plastic.
I prepared a manual for step by step procedure to fit & replace the original HU and, with all prayers, got a right auto electrician. The electrician is so skilled did a neat job, without looking into the manual which I kept it ready.
The removal & replacement went on well. Touch wood … no damage to anything. USB link from rear is hidden at glove box. GPS Antenna placed at the center behind my GOD idol.

MY NEW CHINA FRIEND:
Pros:
1. The unit is really beautiful, integrates well, looks OE & reflects a rich look.
2. Plug and play with BT & GPS, no cutting of wires.
3. A very big screen of 8’’ LCD, 800*480, clear and neat, with color/brightness/ contrast adjustment.
4. Touch screen, though resistive type but fast and responsive.
5. Excellent sound quality surprised me. ( Mine, Front – OE twitter & Speaker; Rear – Pioneer - TS A1605C 16 cm*20mm Component)
6. Excellent CD/DVD player
7. Front & Rear USB port.
8. Supports 32GB SD card- class 10 makes me happy, as I can avoid USB drives.
9. Bluetooth has almost all functions, very good sound quality, including wire free BT music from my Samsung Galaxy Note2.
10. FM sounds better than stock and excellent with shark fin antenna.
11. Browsing of menu is very good and fast.
12. Good external remote, teaches well the after-market steering external remote.
13. In built EQ / custom adjustment.
14. No need for amplifier as I could not exceed even 25 % volume level in my speaker setup.
15. Reverse Camera automatically mute the music.
16. Provisions for D.TV / iPod (4) / Digital Video Recorder, steering remote control support, though no use to me.
17. Better than CASKA make.
18. Transit Package is real professional.

1. Back backlight is orange, to suit 2009 ANHC Model.
2. No analogue TV, I feel as there is no antenna provision.
3. Refused to play any video format of more than 800 x 480 resolution, which includes MP4/MKV.
4. Actual configuration doesn’t show the memory size as claimed as 2GB. (But the unit is fast in responsive)
5. Buttons for AC / Defroster are small, have tiny orange light shadow & and no separate green LED lights.
6. May be I need a screen protector / stylus to avoid scratches.
7. OS is dated one, Windows CE ver. 6 and no more updates / supports.
8. Useless Manual.
9. Unknown life and after sale service.

MY OBSERVATIONS:
Though the unit is overall very good with almost all practical features, nowhere any brand mark or image and not even ‘Made in china’ mark.
Though the seller / supplier says it is from their factory, They were so responsive before placing order, but responding slow post purchase.
Advertisements are misleading; they say at one place it supports 1080 resolution and another place 800x480 resolution. Actually it does not support 1080. Manual indicates correctly.
They are not clear about the product which they sell and I feel different people are involved in manufacturing various components and one integrates and the other put into sales without having any idea.
If you like the set, you have to take two risks.
1. The set will cost you $ 400/- including DHL fright+ customs 30%. in India.
2. After sale service, it is impossible to send it back to China, though there is one year warranty period. Minor repair will not be difficult in India as now we are flooded with such makes in the market. Surely, the seller checks thoroughly before dispatch.
The OS Win CE ver.6 takes 10 to 20 seconds to start depends on the total data on DVD/USB/SD Card. Android units from China is getting popular now, may have better features like OS/ firmware update, capacitive touchscreen, free maps etc. and also @ 100 to200 dollars extra.
What makes me really happy?
The design & finish, No doubt it adds value to my ALBUS!
The price of the unit is cheaper and worth the pain taken.
My ALBUS ( ANHC –EMT 3RD Gen ) now gets steering remote.
I get a very clear sound out of WAV/MP3 formats and a very good video quality in VOB/mpeg2 format after converting my high quality HD MKV /MP4 files into DVD disc format. I found out that the free software ‘freemake video converter’ is an excellent tool to make the best compatible format (NTSC 720*480) to make it play by this unit.

I am Happy with Bluetooth, Radio & music performance…feel like a home theater! I affixed a Dolby 5.1 logo!!
I have put all my favorite collections- Photos, Music & Videos, grouped neatly into one 32GB micro SD (Class 10) card. I felt it convenient compared to USB changing. As I had to send my ALBUS for regular three months service, I removed it but unfortunately misplaced the card. This is so tiny, I should be very careful in future to keep it safe. I have ordered one more from SNAPDEAL @ Rs.929/-
BTW, Anybody knows- is there any free demo online India map software for WIN CE 6 OS (or) at least Map India online site where I can buy the Micro SD Card with Software?
I will make later a detailed report over the add-on steering remote & also the amplifier which I purchased but unused.

I felt, I should go for something look like an OE one with built in Navi/GPS. I worked out the additional expenses towards a good quality panel, extra GPS gadget, of course little larger screen. I consoled myself as most of these components made in China whether branded or unbranded. Mentally I accepted the risk at some cost and pain.

I never wanted to miss the pleasure of a steering remote in such a beautiful car. The ANHC Emt version doesn’t come with a steering remote, so my search ended with an aftermarket add on steering remote.
The best Pioneer is expensive and the Chinese ones had some complaints like fast battery depletion, ineffective signal as meant for left hand drive cars.
I found out, comparatively cheaper, problem free and a new version @ Ali expresses and got it. The quality is very good, only the rubber strap torn out but, we managed to use a black tag to fasten the bracket, inserted the remote comfortably. Of course, I need some more time to comment on battery usage.

DIRECTIONS TO MAKE IT LEARN:
1. Firstly check if remote control (old) which need be copied can work normally. Decide which are the buttons you need on your new steering remote.
I copied :
On/Off, Mute, Menu, Play/Pause, Fwd, Rew, Pre, Next Buttons.
2. Copy operation (for example, copy” X ” button)
Press and hold on “SET” button in the new remote about 2-3 seconds to come to learning mode, LED indicator lights blink continually for 15 seconds.
Within 15 seconds, Press and hold a button on replicable new remote control for a while, for example, printed” X” button, the indicator will glint slowly and replicable remote control enters copying and receiving signal mode. On this mode, take old remote control which need be copied and bring both the remote control front end at 1-2CM face to face, exactly near to the white sensor of new remote against white sensor of old remote.
3. When the indicator light is glinting slowly, press and hold on corresponding “X ” button on the old remote control which need be copied, after about 3 seconds, the LED indicator on the new remote glints thrice rapidly then comes light continually. This shows copy successful.
And red indicator will keep light continually, comes to mode again that wait copying and receiving.
4. For copying function of other buttons, steps are same.
5 After finishing copy, press “SET” button to save operation and quit, the indicator goes out, copying is
finished.
Wow! How convenient now to have a steering remote!
