I would agree with this too. Specially since your van has the old registration (3 Alphabets).

This I would disagree as this being a restoration, it should look like what it looked when it was new.

This I am ok with as it cannot be seen and more importantly it aids the safety and convenience.
Hi P3T3R,

Thanks for the inputs. Yes, I would definitely consider your suggestion on getting the brake booster for safety.

Well, The registration is not a 3 alphabet reg..The other part is hidden, It's KA-*. Regarding the front, I have modified it to look like Omni type 3. Hence also considering Varun's suggestion on getting a new dash.

I am not against this but, my concern is since this front portion is welded in between the chassis and the main pillars (a pillar) wont it make any structural damages.. also it would cause rusting where the welding is done (long term).

this is the only omni that i like, oldest one with round headlights !
my friend too have same model in same color, exact same look same guard on front side, same fog lamps, same red colored horns :lol!: thanks god registration number is different [surprise]
but frankly i think this is not the right time to restore your car [ sorry if i said anything wrong or if it hurted u ] , it's fairly good, god knows whats the condition of underbody flooring.
if it's rusted too much then go for it, if it isnt that bad u can use it as it is for few more years
cheers !
Hi Abhi,

On a lighter note, I have heard that there are 7 people in the world who look alike, so may be the omni or may be even more in numbers which look same.

Well, Yes, even we feel by looking at the pics that it's not still time for it to be restored but if closely observed(sorry for not posting detailed pics of dents and rusted parts) it was indeed time for it to go to the workshop to get a new lease of life. As the saying goes "A stitch in time saves nine." The chasis had developed a lot of holes which had started spreading across the floor area.

Will post a few more pics of restoration pics in a while.

That's an excellent restoration buddy, The job has come out well and the job done is [clap].

Since you made the body to type 3 front, are there any issues(like rattling/Squeakys noise)?

Since i had Whole front removed and change, till engine;i mean front flooring,Front pillars(where door hinges are fixed),front show, there was not issue with it).Still no rust on it.

After fixing the front show and front, alll things were fitted, including dashboard rod of type 3(which includes brake booster holder if your equiping),to check for leakages,or squeaks.

Till no there is no rattle, car is absolute silent, only minor rattle from rear dicky side.It was fun to modify the car,i was in college that time,i swear at age of 18 i learnt lot more about cars,i explored car bazaars, like cst road kurla, opera house, sion, knew each and every gully.
