Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

Bought a solar ventilation fan. This helps to keep he car cool when its parked outside in hot sun.

Saw the details from Mr Mudhan's Honda City thread. Yet to check its performance. Price - 529 rs.

Looks like nice purchase. Varun lets us know about its performance in under the sun.

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

I guess the solar fan should be sent to moon ! By this it should clear the doubts about its performance. [lol]

Got the car detailed in and out. Paint protection done. A long time pending job.
Will upload better pic's later.

Dear Varun560061
Your thread is exciting. You have been doing all your best on this little beauty.

Once upon a time Maruthi 800 was my dream car even though I had a bigger car like Premier Padmini @ those days. There were long waiting period which made & prevented me to own this beautiful little car.

Regarding solar car windows fan, I have just indicated about the device for information as I did not try to document its quality & efficiency.

CAR CARE TIPS - PARKING UNDER HOT SUN (http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...s/14219-my-new-honda-city-white-albus-26.html)

Though the price of this device is being increased every day in online sites, the feedback is not encouraging one to buy. Please note some feedback I gathered:

“The product wont works most of the time, as there should be direct sunlight on the solar panel attached to the device. What I mean to say is, until & unless SUN Rays fall on the solar panel, the fan won’t rotate. The solar panel is fixed and can’t adjust the angle. The device is very big and once you install it, there will be lot of gap from the door frame to the glass. Even though you put the extra beading/rubber cushioning provided by the fan, it’s not so safe I feel.. “

“Plastic used is very cheap...does not work with tinted windows...every time before used you need to blow air on the fan to start...”

Our friends are really eager to know from you as your experience would tell the truth.

Thanks & regards
Dr MUDHAN

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

Thank you Mudhan & Rakesh.

About the solar fan, I have already mentioned in the above post. The fan doesn't rotate that fast to remove hot air from the car. I would not suggest any one to buy this product.

Yes it can be done, they would use different types of materials. Cost would be 2500 rs.

bro, is it fine to apply paint protection from 3m for a newcar?
It can be done Shibu, so that it would protect it from small scratches and swirl marks.

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

It has been 11 years since the 800 came home, 13-06-2003 !!

It has been taking us anywhere anytime all these years and will continue. Odo is 1,06,000 Kms. Even though we had plans to replace the little beauty its not going to happen in future. I know any of the newer cars wont give this happiness ! Cant forget what I learnt from it. My main reason to be TAI is my 800 its been 3 years now, Thanks.
Now its time to take proper care since she is getting old. It is the primary car even though having a diesel at home. Only highway trips are stopped in this beauty.

It had a hit in B'lore traffic I had to get the rear door re-painted a few days back.
