Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

Changed the rear dampers / shocks with Wagonr's as it would improve the handling.
The main reason for this mod is because the Waggy's shocks are taller & stiffer than the 800's and I have spacers that will be the correct size for it. Car handles better.
Varun,

Congrats on Waggy rear shock, So you finally replaced over the Swift shocks.
Was rear shock from old Wagon R Model or New Wagon R model.
Why do we need to add spacers cant we get taller Springs for that.

Sri

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

Hi Sri..

I have used the type 2 waggy's shocks. Taller springs are not available in market.
May be you can try any other car's coil. But changing coil would make the ride very harsh and bumpy.

Does Alto800's/K10 (K10 might be shorter) fit into the M800 and any idea if it is softer or equalent to M800 coil springs in terms of comfort. As you know I'm waiting for the past 1 yr for this mod.

I don't have any info about those shocks.. why don't you try and let us know, so we can try to get them for our 800's too.

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

PFA the pics of rear coil springs
Zen--- Maruti800-- WagonR

Zen was thicker, 1.5 inch taller
Wagon R looked very very mild thick when compared to M800, .75inch taller

Varun, Could you Pl. confirm how much were the Wagon R rear shocks taller compared to M800.

Any one has seen the diff between WagonR (Old) vs WagonR (New) coil spings

Sri

HI Rakesh,

Try and See if you can fit New Wagon R Shocks and Coils Springs. I have personally seen the one's for K10 with old one's, there is a a lot difference in the make/quality.

Hi Varun

Nice informative thread. Now I am restoring my Ambassador car. Thinking for EPS and also one Wagon r PS motor is ready with me. Can you please tell me how much price would be for PS ECU and whether this motor can take the load of Ambassador.

Thanks

Thanks, It can take the load. But make sure to source the rpm signal. Its the toughest part as the PS doesn't cut off at high speeds. I bought the coloum, motor and ECU (as one unit) for 13k.
