That's cool to see your Enjoy with alloys [clap]. How much does it costs?

Hi Varun
Recently I read from Indian Auto blog that General Motors is introducing a new SUV - Chevrolet Spin - to India. This new car will also sport the same 1.3 Ltr Multi Jet Diesel Engine and the price is rumoured to be around 8.5 Lacs.

If this turns out to be true then I think they will discontinue the Enjoy. Did you hear any such thing from anywhere?

Hi Saji, I have read about it.

But why are you worried, they can't discontinue simply like that.
Even if they ever do that, they will have to provide us spares. Don't worry just enjoy driving !

Hi Varun,
The Engine Malfunction display indicator of our car began to show amber light again. Yesterday I visited the service centre and they said the reason for the MFD was that some connector hose to the turbo charger became loose. They did some repairs and the light went off.

But today afternoon the light turned amber again. We contacted the service centre over phone and they told they will report it to the company and get back to us.

The service adviser also informed me that some other Enjoys also have shown the same problem. Do you know anyone facing this? Our car has run 13000 km. The car had displayed the same problem at 6000 kms. At that time they has replaced an actuator hose.

Have you any idea, what might be the cause of this repeated problem

Any clue as to what might be the reason for this?
My driving style is very sedate. I seldom do over speeds or sudden accelerations.

Saji, Check if any of the hose pipes are leaking. Usually if the intercooler or turbo hose is leaking you will face this issue. Are you getting Malfunction indicator or service soon indicator.

Varun,
It is the Malfunction Indicator that stays put.

The Service Centre people says that the hose to the turbo gets 'bledged' ( I am not sure if there is such a term in English - but this is what the Service Advisor told me). When I asked him to explain this term he told me like this: When air is drawn by the turbo at high pressure, the hose will tend to squeeze itself (This is what he terms bledging). In order to prevent the hose from squeezing itself, some sort of reinforcement is provided to the hose by means of a coil placed inside the hose. This coil or ring - whatever it is - some times slips out its position. This will cause the hose to 'bludge' and so the turbo may not get the required pressure - may be for a few seconds - and immediately the sensor will sense this pressure drop and hazard lamp will glow.

When I enquired him why does the coils slips out of its place, he had no answer to offer. He told me he will get in touch with the company and will get back in a day or two. So waiting for his answer now

Hi All

Completed 15000 Kms yesterday. Went for Service. Changed Oil, Oil filter & Fuel Filter. One horn was not honking. Set it right. Altogether costed Rs 2370/- for the Second service

At the Service centre i met a taxi driver, whose Enjoy LTZ has run 1,08,000 km. He is very happy with the car. He has no major repair history yet. His car is running in the high ranges of Kerala. He told me that even after 100000 Kms his engine is still very peppy and happy to lug full load of people without any sign of engine fatigue.

His OE tyres lasted for 45K Kms. He opted Michellin Tyres for replacement. Those tyres have already run around 50K plus kms. They are still good for another 10K kms. He has upsized the tyres.

He also told that since his car is the top end version, he finds no problem in braking also.
His malfunction indicator light has also come up quite a few times; the service centre people immediately rectified it every time. But he too is clue less about the reason for the same.

Odo stands at 36,xxx kms. New upgrades - New freeflow exhaust and better map to improve power. Frame less wipers from Minda.

No issues except winning noise from the differential at speeds above 80, any one experiencing the same ?
