Ownership summary of my pre-owned Alto Lxi

When I started learning driving from the things were not going smoothly. I was not able to get driving license with the usual training form the driving school. Later I decided to get a pre-owned car for learning the art of driving and the way of maintaining it. After a short search in pre-owned car dealers I have decided to buy 2009 Alto Lxi with 34K in the odo for 2.15 Lakh. I have kept this car for 1.5 years and ran 24000 kilometers and more importantly learned driving from this car. This was an easy to use city car but not really suitable for highway trips. The mileage I was getting was below average for a car in this class - between 12 to 15 kmpl. The car was fairly reliable during the 24000 km run. Only issue I faced was a broken shifting shaft in gear lever. The maintenance was done from authorized Maruthi dealership. The regular periodic maintenance was good but not exactly cheaper. I have spent up to 6000/- for normal periodic services. Moreover the service interval of the car is 5000km or 6 months. I have sold the car last week with 57000km odo value for 1.75 lakh. Overall I am satisfied with the car, will definitely recommend for somebody who wants to learn driving or need cheap second hand city car. Another good alternative will be Hyundai Santro.

Good:-

Useful city car
Reliable and easy to maintain
Proportionate dimensions and good looking

Bad:-

Cramped interiors
Not suitable for highway trips
Engine vibrations and sound cladding

LOW mileage,Costly spares of santro etc took me to alto.[lol]

Bad:-

Cramped interiors

Engine vibrations and sound cladding
Cramped, Lacks power on highways and too much vibrations from doors.[roll]

Yes,The wires are provided there.[:)]

Bought "Stanley Auto Cigarette Lighter" from eBay

Installation pics uncluded for reference.[:)]
Hello Aneesh, could you tell me where you got the two wires for connecting the cigarette lighter? Are the wires already present or do we have to tap it from the battery?

I am trying to connect the cigarette lighter but not sure where / how to do the wiring.

Thanks

It's prewired and wires will be near audio wiring.
