Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

Last week after starting the car at a traffic signal, I heard a ‘tuk, tuk’ sound coming from inside the dash. It was sounded like someone hammering a nail. Around 6 to 10 ‘tuks’ then a gap of 5 seconds and then it will start all over again. The cycle kept repeating nonstop. I parked the car and checked the engine bay thinking that it was some relay malfunctioning. The funny thing was that it started when the ignition was on with the engine off. And continued after the engine was cranked. So I knew that it was not connected to the engine.

After reaching the office (around 8 km further with this irritating noise), I switched off all the electrical equipment, like cell charger, stereo, etc. I checked the power window switches they all worked well. Then I noticed the AC’c air recirculation button was on. I switched it off and bingo! the sound stopped. When I switched it on again it started. So I figured, it had to do with the fresh air inlet damper which was not seating properly.
Your knowledge and problem identification methods are fantastic.

I too purchased a Manza 6 months ago and extreamly happy with the performance.

My experiance with the the authorised sevice center in VAPI is very good so far.

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

Hi All,

2. Front Right window winding (Glass refused to come up and had a strange noise from door)
3. Light/ Indicator combination switch (right Stock) the problem was that when i use the indicator the complete light would go off and then come back in a sec
4. Power window switch Left front & Back as the lights was not glowing
Right power window makes a sqeeking noise. they replaced the switch for us but still continues , but not regularly.

indicator when switched on to right , makes whole of pilotlamp , tail lamp, instrument cluster lamp switch off for a sec and then comes again. they said the combination switch is not in stock .

these two are irritating feature in ours.

The squeaking sound should not be from the switches. it may be from the motor or the mechanism that moves the glass up or down. It may even be from the channels though which the glass slides.

It is best to ask the mechanic to remove the door panel in front of you and operate the glass a few times to locate the actual problem. Tata has a lazy way of doing some preconceived procedure without trying to trouble shoot the actual problem

I do not have the problem with the combination switch. Was the problem always there or did it crop up lately.

I now have a new problem. Quite simple. The rear left window glass rolls down from the driver side control switch but does not roll up. But the rear left door power window switch works perfect.

I showed it to the workshop last saturday and they said they will replace the driver side control switch. Since they said it will take one hour, I didn't do it then.

I will be going now to get is replaced.

Another thing is that they had fixed some flimsy mud flaps when I took delivery and the rear left mudflap is torn and is dangling around. I need to change that also today.

Any idea for a spoiler for manza? Or can we fix one which comes for other cars like city, accent, or civic on manza?

Yes. You can fit them but I'm not sure how good it will look. But I guess a lip spoiler would do a better job overall.

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

I am yet to find a shop that has ready stock of different types of spoilers, so I can place them in position and see how they look before buying.

But everywhere they ask me to pay upfront and that they will fix it the next day:(

I haven't gone to JC street/mission road where all the auto spare shops are located. Parking is a big problem there.

Will try GP road in Chennai when I go there next.

Update

Got my mudflaps fixed (300 and 207 fixing charges + taxes) and also the front driver side power window switch assembly replaced. (Switch free under warranty)

I was getting a low rubbing sound from the front suspension when I go over a speed bump. I was told that the stabilizer bar bush is the cause and Tata has a redesigned bush of a better material and clamps, which again will be replaced free. Didn't have time today, so will do that next week.

I was also informed that light/indicator switch stalk assembly in another part that can be replaced free. Since I don't have any problem as of now, I was told it can be replaced anytime within 2 years, if I have any problem.

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

I have covered almost 15000 kms with my Manza and am pretty happy with it. So I thought I will slowly build it up to to get the most out of it.

Today I installed LED light under the dashboard and the back of the front seat which lights up if any door opens (like the cabin light). And also in the dicky.

As I found the fog lights not effective during my Valparai trip, I have also put in some strips of LEDs next to the fog lights. Need to test this out in real fog. If it doesn’t work out, well, I will just leave it there for cosmetic purpose.

I paid 800 rs for the interiors and the dicky. The front ones cost me 400 rs. Both including installation charges.

I am posting some pictures I took today. The pic quality is real bad. But will give an idea.

In future I plan to install some LEDs under the door pads, so when we open the door in the night we will know what are stepping out on ( similar the puddle lights on some cars.) And a Spoiler. I wanted to change the hubcaps, but most of the dealer not have 15” hubcaps.

Highway Ranger i have seen few Manza's with spoilers , they don't go well with Manza! You can try out lip spoiler instead.

LED lights are looking cool , i liked the ones in the front bumper too!

LED's are good looking in the front,i don't think it produces more of illumination when compared to the fog lamps but they are looking cool.Try spoilers that stick to the rear glass, maybe that can give a flair to the style instead of fitting on the boot(remember seeing one at the back of corolla)

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

@ cooldhaya,

I am also very apprehensive about the spoiler. That is why I have not agreed to any dealer for order without first seeing the spoiler kept in place and checking out the looks. I have also seen many Manzas withe one kind of spoiler that looks like the one Tata has started providing as accessory now. I too dont like it. But I have seen one black Manza that passed us on one of our chennai trip that looked different and looked really nice. Anyway, that is not an absolute necessity. So, I will just keep looking till I find one that really looks good. BTW, lip spoiler may give it a look like Logon , which I do not like.

I too like the LEDs, boot in the front and inside. I wonder if they are durable.

@ Vishwas

You may be right. If the LEDs in the front are not effective as a fog lamp, I will leave them just for looks.

I too saw a car with a spoiler, (If you can call it so. it was more like a front sunshade, like the ones that come for old Ambys and Fiats those days), few days ago in Bangalore. I didn't make out the brand. Must have seen it some where between CV Raman Nagar/Indranagar and Silkboard/ HSR layout. May be the same car????

I dont know if it was the same one.I saw one at Basaveshwaranagar signal.
it was a maroon colored Corolla.(sorry buddy missed to see the area's registration, But something running on my mind, KA-03 maybe its reg no.)

I have no idea what company it was because it was just passing by.You may get those at J.C Road, they would give an idea about what it is.

it was like door visior's quality, its like the fibre one where some CRV's carry on the front bonnet.

I agree with Dhaya, Spoilers dont go well with Manza. You can go for lip spoiler instead.
