Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

I think the service guys are taking you for a ride when they say that the new manzas do not have any adjustment screws for the high beam. Just insist that they adjust the high beam. They probably do not know the location of the screws and do not want to put any effort to find them.
GM Oberoi motors him self got a complete assembly of headlight from the store & inspected if any adjustment is possible or not, In manza workshop manual its mentioned that its possible but they could not find it & the mechnic also confirmed that they only have adjusted low beam so far in all the manza, I still believe that YES it might be possible that this adjustment is concealed with the body & may not be known to them, I will mail directly to customer care.

By any chance did you click the photos when the head light was taken out or before & after comparison of high beam throw? I may have to get higher wattage Philips 100/90 lamps fitted with relay to get over this problem which I dont want to do actually but have no choice either.

demister works for the back glass only or the entire car,I haven't yet used it. I think its most useful in winters when the outside dense fog also creates inside mist right?

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

good fe.
our manza gives max of 17 to 18 in normal driving condition.
balme the road and driving manner.

last tour it gave a constant fe of 15 to 16kmpl.

same is the case in city condition.
every time with ac.

I have still not yet driven them so gently for max FE.

max speed till now is 130+. didnt go beyond them since runs on first set of oils.
After reading pulling problem , i was afraid. luckily nothing as of such now.

Air pressure check and set to 30psi in all and was checked. no issues.

Only issue is its sluggish compared to swift. since that is the same diesel engine i have driven.
accept this is hatch and manza is sedan.

Manza lack sudden pick up when fully loaded and ask for 3rd gear to overtake sudden!

Unfortunately no. But they had to remove the battery for accessing the left side alignment screws and the air intake bellows for the right side.

Demister works for the rear glass only. It is good to use even when it is raining. Better visibility - my experience.

@ ilango

When we keep the engine rpm above 2200 you will be amazed at the pickup. Zooms like a sports car. I was pleasently surprised. But the down side is fe suffers.

Manza drives at 80kmph at an rpm of 2000 in 5th gear. so if you are in forth gear for the same speed pickup will be good. For my kind of driving I found the pickup ok as I plan my overtaking with respect to the traffic condition ahead.

I think the air pressure recommended for Manza is 32psi. So please check your tyre pressure.

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

In my case I am told by tata engineers that newer manza dont have the option of adjusting the high beam at all, only older manza you could do it. I am struck as I high beam is useless & overlaps almost the same area with brighter light of low beam.
Stupid manza designers thought.

I have to travel at night on expressway & high beam is not focused far enough for 100-120kmph driving at all which I use to do it comfortably with older Indica V2.

I doubt if I change to Philips X-treme Vision or any other brighter bulb how will I focus them? I don't need more light I need them to focus far away.
Hi Gypsy,

I dont think Tata has changed the head Lamp assembly for the latest Manza. To locate the screw just ask the Mech to bring in the head light assembly spare part you can check out yourself for the screw. (This is what i asked Concord motor Mech to do for me)

Regarding 100/90 watts - Manza has sinsle filement (ie H7) bulbs hence it would be 90 watts and you can change it for High beam only

Is that 32 psi , need to check.

i keep 30 in all. even in my sierra.

In plane roads it has good pick up.
it suffered , hmmm rather suffered , it should be said like this.
it need a lower gear in slightest inclined roads , eps in bangalore highways kind of.

Year near and above 2500 rpm its behaving like a beast .
but it takes time to reach that rpm , may be ecm controlled in load and inclined roads.??

Thanks Sandeep I am taking the car tomorrow to workshop since TML officials are coming from Pune to look into my problem of left pulling (not fully sorted yet)

I will get the headlight assembly & shoot the images of it for you to see. I hope this can be done but will get to know tomorrow.

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

My Manza’s first hitch

Last week after starting the car at a traffic signal, I heard a ‘tuk, tuk’ sound coming from inside the dash. It was sounded like someone hammering a nail. Around 6 to 10 ‘tuks’ then a gap of 5 seconds and then it will start all over again. The cycle kept repeating nonstop. I parked the car and checked the engine bay thinking that it was some relay malfunctioning. The funny thing was that it started when the ignition was on with the engine off. And continued after the engine was cranked. So I knew that it was not connected to the engine.

After reaching the office (around 8 km further with this irritating noise), I switched off all the electrical equipment, like cell charger, stereo, etc. I checked the power window switches they all worked well. Then I noticed the AC’c air recirculation button was on. I switched it off and bingo! the sound stopped. When I switched it on again it started. So I figured, it had to do with the fresh air inlet damper which was not seating properly.

Next day being a Saturday, took it to the service station and explained the problem in detail to the service guys. What they told me was that some batches of Manza has this problem and that they have been asked to replace the whole air intake assembly with the motor, If anyone brings this to their notice.

Anyway got mine replaced (took around 2 hours – one hour to get the part from the spare part store and fix it and one hour to complete the paper work – they complained that their system was slow)

I insisted that I will be there to watch the repair and finally they agreed. All they had to do was remove the glove compartment, disconnect the connector from the motor, remove 4 screws that fix the air intake assembly to the chassis and replace it with the new one. The problem with the old one was that the gears connecting the damper spindle and the motor spindle was slipping, hence the noise.

So these silent recalls are also taking place , faulty parts being replaced without any attention!

Anyways glad to know the problem was solved and actually you are lucky they had the spare!

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

Yes. They were also replacing the indicator stalk assembly free of charge in the earlier models.

Went for a long trip last week.

Day 1
Bangalore >Tirunelveli, (Great drive) >Nazareth (single lane state highway - conditions some ok, some bad.)

Day 2
Nazareth

Day 3
>Manapad beach, (some village roads - no traffic) >Uvari beach, (state highway - single road - good condition) >Kanyakumari (some bad stretch)

Day 4
>Sothavillai beach, Sanghuthurai beach, >Kanyakumari (beach side road - the whole stretch of 30 km – ok to good road. You can stop anywhere and you will have a beach for you – deserted.

Day 5
>Muttum beach, (ok to bad roads) Padmanabhapuram palace, (bad road) Mathoor aquaduct (hanging bridge),(real bad roads) Tirupurrupu falls, (some real bad roads till Nagarcoil) >Kanyakumari (ok roads)

Day 6
>Courtallam, >Tenkasi (till Tirunelveli NH7 and then state highway ok)

Day 7
>Virudhunagar (ok to so so, state highway)

Day 8
>Bangalore. (NH7)
Total distance covered - 1800+ km.

3 tankups - one past Sattur on NH7 fe 20.54 - one before leaving kanyakumari for Courtallam fe 17.17.25 and one on the way back at A2B thoppur 18.23.

Overall, apart from Courtallam, (mad, mad crowd and some real bad roads near Kanyakumari), the trip was great.

Got the 3rd service done along with wheel alignment, balancing and tyre rotation.

Also did the interior 3m treatment done – cost me 1500 rs. (My mother-in-law collected lots of shells from the beaches in kept them inside the cabin which created a nasty stink inside. And all the sand and some food stain)

I think you must have enjoyed the whole trip driving the car , FE as usual is awesome!

But Rs.1500 for interior treatment , means cleaning and polishing the interiors completely? They charge Rs.900 for my Verna but this seems a little high to me.

Yes. Really enjoyed the drive. Never felt tired.

1500 Rs is for 3M interior treatment. I too thought it was on the higher side. they showed me a list quoting the price for different treatments for different models. They have done a good job though.

Can you confirm if the interior treatment that you did for your car was from 3M?

There is a 3M car detailing showroom near my place where I did my sunfilms. I will go and double check.

Well i don't know whether its 3M or not , i just ask them to clean the Interiors each time i service the car because even though its pricey they still do a very good job!

I will try to check when i service my car next time.

Hi Knightrider,

Thank you.

You are right. Tata has discontinued Satin Gold and another colour, some Bluesh Grey, dont' recall what that was called. Gothic Olive is new and is darker than Satin Gold.
What's wrong with Tata? [confused] Why are they discontinuing good colours from Manza. Just saw their new website for Manza. Now, even the Black colour seems to have been discontinued. [anger]

low sales and preference from custumers maybe.indians are allergic to black (except few)
