I got the AC filter cleaned recently and the results are awesome. There is substantial improvement in the cooling.
IMO, we should get the AC filter cleaned before every summer .They do it@150 Rs at TASS.

Hi Vijay,

The car is doing good. After rectifying the steering wobble issue, the car is great to drive in the highways. Slowly signs of wear are beginning to show on the plating of the gear lever knob and the steering wheel. Will take pictures and post it once I am free.

The seat covers, (still the original ones), are pretty dirty and need to clean them tomorrow or the day after.

Nothing much is happening apart from long drives as I go to the office only once a week. So nothing much to update.

Please update your thread after you get your car back from service.

For your recent service which oil did they use for changing synthetic or semi-synthetic. Because this service the SA told that TML has recommended using the semi which is cheaper than synthetic . this is done mainly to reduce the service costs by 40% due to lesser cost of semisynth

Good that you are still on OEM seats covers. But the beige fabric really hard to maintain and looks bad id even small dirt/stain is there. I have now shifted to chennai from Bangalore. We will meet sometime when you come chennai

Ours got blocked once and just a simple cleaning made a huge difference.

The sad part of the car is it has a italy make alternator , that works only for 3 years[confused]. We do not have a extended warranty and we needed to shell out about 10000/- after a very hard bargain. Earlier we were quoted 18000/- after a tiff with tata , they agreed to give for 10000/-
But after the job completion , we did not receive any bill..

Strange, how can they sell a part without bill. Please do insist on a bill with tax breakup. This is required in case your replaced alternator also fails.

You need the bill. Why do you pay without a bill? [confused] Even if a part is replaced in warranty they give a bill. (at least here in Bangalore).

Shoot a email to Tata customer care with all the details.

Did you need to change Excide OEM battery till now, mine died today when I wanted to step out found that battery has drained over night had to jump start with cable. Few people I discussed they say oem excide are not good enough & their life is 24-26 months (mine died after 2yrs 19 day) I am thinking if I have to change (assuming its dead) I will go for Amaron Go.
ON odometer I have completed 48250kms if that matters.

Hi gypsy. Nice to hear from you after a long gap.[:)]

IMHO your battery has served you well... 48000+ kms. I don't think you should worry about it under performing or what so ever.

While going in for a new battery, it is better to go in for one that gives the max warranty.[;)]

I have not changed my battery yet. Starts at the first crank. but then I have run only 38000+kms and is 28 months old.

BTW, did you get any tell tale signs that your car was going to have a dead battery?

And... your manza is just a few runs away from a half century....[clap]

Amaron has different products ranging from 36months to 60 months warranty but I assume the price would be charged accordingly too so will see what are other differences between their products.

No nothing as such the car till last 2 days started on 1st try itself.

This is what I posted on another forum as to what happened exactly & I was taken by surprise of this sudden death.
Last 2 days I have not stepped out & today evening I wanted to go out but as
soon as I started ignition ON I heard beep beep sound & battery light blinking &
fainted low....low...almost gone due to that I didn't crank up. Assuming some
battery problem I open the bonnet checked battery points it appeared fine to me
& well connected no loose contact. Tried again but same battery light flashing
on dashboard but this time I cranked but the car wont start.

I tried dhakka start with 4 of us pushing the car but it didn't start at all,
called Obeorai motors noida but they are closed on Tuesday hence called up GM on
his personal cell Mr. Rajgopalan was kind enough to take my call he confirmed
that the battery is fully drained out hence wont start just look for a mechanic
locally who can start it by using a jumper cable along with other battery.

I got a mechanic he started the car with external battery we took the car to his
shop he checked water level poured in some water but the battery charging as per
him was not happening, we kept the car switched on for 1 hour then took a round
of 10 kms & came back switched off the engine, tried starting it again it didn't
start at all even after 1 hr of charging.

Mechanic feels the 2 of its stick are gone but he could not check the gravity
since the batter was completely discharged.

Now the question is how come the battery got discharged, 1st thing I checked if
any light was left On but all switch were off I double checked them, moreover
last travel 2 days ago was in the night & when I parked in garage the headlight
was switched off (no 2nd thought about it) Only a/c blower switch was on when I
1st switched on the ignition today which should go off when the key is taken
out.

Seems something remained ON even after taking the key out & I do have noticed
that on random occasion even after the key is taken out the radio remained
switched on in past few months. How is it possible I don't understand.

Now I don't have any option but to take the car (jump starting would be tried
once again in morning) to Oberai motors noida.

How can a battery die in 2yrs I have had battery normally lasting 4+ yrs after
which I changed it since it was too old.

Any pointer as to what went wrong & how can current remain after the key is
taken out? No extra gadget added or wire has been ever tampered in my manza yet
this problem.
