Will post the Pic of my car after Installing on Monday.
Where to we fit this blind spot concave mirror. Anyone have idea abt it. Peter, appu, gypsy ?? Recently I made a dent while parking just below the headlint , above bumper in the metal area. I think this blindspot mirror will help in checking the blindspot below the Left ORVM

Those concave mirrors might not help you see anything near your headlight. It is used only to avoid the blind spot in the side rear view - after any vehicle has passed the line of vision of the outside rear view mirror, but still has not overtaken you.

Thanks for clarification. But till now i did not find any problem while overtaking. The Manza stock ORVMs are good enough for seeing the vehicles coming in the sides. As you said, adjustment is the key. For the blindspots below teh head lights mainly used for parking, is there any mirror that can be installed on bumper like in the SUVs we can find..

Highwayranger, your post #463 with graphics to adjust mirrors has been very educative for me. As you said, driver side mirror has limitations. I will try to find some solution of this.
I was always under impression that a portion of car should be visible in the ORVMs. Your post busted this myth of mine. Thanks a lot.

I always have my ORVM adjusted to show 1/3 portion of my car. I will try today to see if the position mentioned in image above is possible in PUNTO or not. Thanks for sharing the pic. [:D]

gypsy, we do not need to change the mirrors. Just need to adjust them to get rid of the blind spot.
I saw your other post about adjustment I have the same adjustment but I have daily drive on 3-4 lane highway where only 2 lane cars are visible with OEM mirrors.

Extra wide rear view mirrors are helpful in that situation as the side mirrors can then be adjusted to see further out in 3rd lane.

Yes, the driver's side does not open out enough. If you find a solution, please let me know.

That is how I started driving, after getting to know about the new adjustment, I used it in both my Zens. Initially it feels strange as you don't see your car in the mirror, but then you get used to it.

The extra wide rear view mirror sounds interesting. Wonder if it will obstruct the view ahead, as I am tall. [confused] It might be in my line of vision.

The actual problem is when the vehicle is out of your mirror, they are along side your vehicle, out of the mirror's range and not yet into your eye's peripheral vision. That is too close for comfort. (few occasions driving Manza, I have been tracking a vehicle in my rear view mirror and and I take my eyes off the mirror for a second and then the vehicle has disappeared my mirrors and suddenly find it alongside me overtaking.)

This may be the reason that countless times, when I am halfway overtaking a vehicle in Bangalore, they just drift into my lane. And when I honk, I see the driver clueless as to what he was doing.

Had to go to Chennai on some family emergency last Wednesday.

On the way to Chennai.

@nozzlering

I found a easy way of adjusting the mirror on this highway trip. It was so simple that I feel like a fool driving this car for over 25000 km without trying out this method. [frustration]

You just have to move the full assembly outward a little and then you can do your minor adjustments internally.

It stayed in this position all the way to Chennai and also on the bad roads of Chennai

Ditto. I tried the same on my weekend trip to Waynad. And I was about to mention the same on this thread. Anyways, now we know, how to go for it. Yes it stays in that position even on bad roads. But my concern is, is it good in the long run? Will it create a play in the movement of the ORVM? Will it get loose after few years because of our new adjustment technique. Thanks for sharing. [:)]

I've attached Concave mirror on my Vista's ORVM, it covers the Blind spots very perfectly & I'm getting the clear view.

You guys can check in my review[;)]

Hello Highway Ranger, I am not sure if this is the best practice to move the complete assy outwards. Experts might be able to comment on this. To my knowledge, this is a feature added by TML to save the mirror assy from breaking in case some one hits it while overtaking you and wants to take it away with him.

@ Praf: Yes it surely is not the best practice. But we're trying to figure out, how we can achieve better rear view with minimal blind spot. As of now, it seems to be working.
