Agree with you all...

Some common things to get checked:
Do i have to top up the oil?
Do i have to get the air filter cleaned?
Do i have to get the AC filter cleaned?
I have some stains on the fabric of the doors, will they clean that?
The car was experience with them was not good in the 1st service. When I complained to them then they washed it again [thumbsdown]

I have my own doubts about the quality of checks they do in serice.

My TASS is aadya motors (Punch line: miles Ahead in quality [frustration])
Talking to TASS is like you have hired the car from them and registering your defects is like returning the faulty car which you hired from them [embarass]

I feel sorry for Ratan Tata ji. This product can change the image of TATA motors, but again its just a thought.

I resonate that thought but someone within tata motors is hell bent upon not doing the required things.

Air filter element has to be cleaned. Standard procedure for every service.

Before handing over the car to them, ask the SA to check the engine oil level in front of you. Normally you don't have to top up. If you don't check before giving the car, don't be surprised to find top up list in your bill for which you have to pay.

Check the engine coolant, Wiper fluid, brake fluid levels with the SA and note if they are required to be topped up.

And for the stains on the door fabric, just casually ask the SA to do it and not the complete interior cleaning.

Better still, keep mum and at the time of signing the feed back form take the SA along with you pretending to inspect the car, point out the stains, and ask them why they have messed up the car and get it cleaned before signing the feedback form.

During 2nd service for my Manza, they topped up 500ml.

Before topping up, SA called me and showed that level has dipped and a top up is required.

My driver was with me and he argued with SA that a dip in oil level should not happen in 5000 km and he was citing examples of Innova, Civic etc.

SA took us to TASS Manager and he explained us that oil level may go down in case of high speed driving.

I was told in 2nd service but I topped up in 3rd service at 10000kms. It took 1lt oil at that time so indeed oil top will be required as per driving conditions.
Complete oil change with filters is after every 20000kms with synthetic oil, Manza quadrajet manual recommends Mobile1 0W40 or 5W40 grade oil.

Those who have changed oil which one did you use 0W40 or 5W40?

For my car it was Mobile1 0W40 for my car. They said it was recommended by Tata. And I had to pay way more than what autosafari paid - 3228.06 rs. Cost 1008.77/ltr

Actually the cost difference is due to its synthetic composition, 5W40 is not fully synthetic (as per my hear say) whereas 0W40 is fully synthetic.

Major advantage with 0W40 is cold cranking less damage as the oil doesn't gel/freeze at sub zero temperature. Bangalore/Chennai may not make much use of 0W40 but in North Indian winters I often have to travel in below zero areas where cold cranking becomes a real issue. This winter I had often crank the engine at -2 to 4°C

Ok, I thought the price difference was because of the brand difference. They used Castrol Professional Edge 5W40 for Autosafari's car and for mine they used Mobil1 0W40.

This morning, while waiting at a signal, a biker cut in the gap between my car and the car in front. I couldn't even honk at him as I had switched off the car.

Hope some hard rubbing with some rubbing compound will remove it.

left bumper.

HR: have you seen this news.

TATA Motors replacing Anti-roll bar bush on Manza free of cost; No, this is not a recall :)
Tata Motors is at it again and this time too, the car and utility vehicle maker claims that the “replacement exercise” it is undertaking on the Manza sedan is not a recall. Coming straight to the point, Tata Motors is replacing the anti-roll bar bush, a vital component of the car’s suspension, on all Manza sedans, free of cost. Tata Motors’ dealers and authorized service centers are carrying out the repairs during the time when the Manza sedan is brought for the regular service. The customer need not pay anything for this replacement exercise.

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

Did you show it to the service station? Usually they have ready remedy for Manza, as they have improved some of the components for the newer models and so they replace them without a fuss.

They changed tie rod bushes for my car saying that they have redesigned bushes.

BTW, I am thinking, if I should go for their AMC for 4 years/50000kms. It is supposed to cover everything other than battery, tyres and accidental repairs.
They changed this for my car in December. Tata had redesigned it and it was free of charge.

Re: My Manza Aura ABS QJet - Truly a Breed Apart

What problem does this anti roll bar bush corrects?
Does it correct the manza left pulling problem?
It is just a redesign to avoid it becoming dry and worn out early.

AFAIK, it has nothing to do with left pulling/correction.
