Hi HR,

You are using your manza very well. [clap]

I too own the Tyrian wine Qjet ABS.
I get a mileage of 12.5-13 Full tank method in bangalore city peak traffic time.
I got a mileage of 20 on my mysore trip, kept the needle around 80-100KMPH.
Not sure if my dirving style is different in city. I dirve it the same way i use to drive my Alto. Your inputs on city driving tips please?

Congratulations for your new Manza.

Tyrian wine is a good colour.
Which variant you bought ? Aura ABS or Elan.

Since you mentioned you are driving like an Alto, I would request you change your style slightly to suit a diesel car.
Unlike petrol cars, diesel cars (those with high low end torque) need not be pushed with the accelerator always.

Hi Manza Class. Welcome to TAI.

Ok, to be honest, I avoid peak hours. I leave home at 8 am and leave office at 4 pm. My route is also pretty smooth, but for a couple of bottlenecks morning times. Apart from that I am pretty aggressive while driving.

Since you drive in the peak hour traffic, I know some parts of the city, it is bumper to bumper moving at a slow pace. So, 12.5 to 13 seems ok. Initially I used to get between 13 to 14, but it improved with time. So don't worry.

My highway average is also around 20, but I go bit faster than you. That, again, is because I use 4 lane highways mostly. Bangalore to Mysore your speed is the safest.

What I have learned is to enjoy the drive and forget about mileage.

Why don't you start an ownership thread giving us your experience with the car.

Hi Manza_class : Welcome aborad TAI. As Tornado said this is the unoffical Manza Forum. Pls feel free to start your ownership thread.

Thats a good policy. Yesterday i made a trip from chennai to bangalore in chittor- kolar route. I started at 5 am and reached bangalore at 10 Am. this the fastest time I have clocked in my 5 trips. This time I followed your policy to enjoy drive and not drive for FE. Till Sriperumdur I could not drive fast and have to maintain below 80 because of a reasonable Truck traffic. ALso the chittoor- Mulbagal route being single lane I maintain 80 kmph. But Mulbagal - Bangalore stretch of 90 kms I covered in 1 hour. But still the DIS meter showed 22.5 kmph[clap]. If accounted for error the actual would be 20 kmph

@Tornado:Can you share autosafris link so i can subscribe to it to receibe updates. Currently I m only subscribed to HR, yours and ilango's Manza Threads.
@manza_class : you can go through my ownership thread also if you have time. Mine is - http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...y-buying-experience-manza-aura-quadrajet.html. Though not much updates due to some tight schedules and some laziness.

Hi All,

My Car is due for 2nd service tomorrow (5000KM).
Any thing to look out for in this service?

The problems i have are:
1.The ICD shows error when i full the tank, it shouws 'err' and doesnt show the Distance to empty.
2.There is some 'kharrr kharrr' sound from the front suspension when i go on sharp hump. Please note that its not that THUD sound as some other manza owners have reported on net.
3.Fan sound inside the cabin, it doesnt look like its running smoothly.
4.When i drive on quite road i hear the tyre sound from right front side, 'khass khass' type :) dont know if this is normal.

Other than this i dont remember anything on top of my mind.
But i must say that the suspension is on very soft side, even a small pot hole makes that THUD sound when the car is with 5 adults.

Point 1. - Report the issue to TASS and get it rectified/replaced. I never had any such problem.

Point 2. - has to do with the suspension spring seating. Usually will reseat itself after a few hard bumps. If the problem persists, report to TASS.

Point 3. - I can't visualize your problem. I hear the fan sound in high speeds. But in low speed there is only a very low steady sound almost silent. Can you elaborate on the nature of the sound and why you think it is not running smoothly. Again you should report this to TASS.

Point 4. If you have wheel caps fitted, remove them and check if some sand had got in. Also tap the wheel cap to see if it is loose.

Point 5. If you find anything wrong in your car, do not wait till the next service. Just take it to TASS and report the problem.

When they fill the job card, Make sure all the problems that you mentioned are recorded. and when you get the car back ask them what they have done for each of your complaint and ask them to record it in the bill. That way it will be on record.

If they say some part is not available, ask them to record it also.

Hope you have a pleasant experience with your TASS.

Thanks for your inputs HR
1. The ICD error goes off after driving say 20KM. May be it doesnt like the full tank [clap]
It shows the avg FE and the instant FE but DTE is the problem, anyways will report it to them and see.
2. This problem started after 1st service at 1000KM, now its 5000KM, so i think they have to address this problem.
3. I dont know how to explain, but earlier this problem was not there. It just started recently.
4. Will check for wheel caps.

I am very apprehensive to go to TASS. These guys behave like novice engineers. Their approach is so silly to the problems. I feel that for most of the problems they do trial and error and then try to rectify it (sounds crazy). That simplicity and humbleness is lacking in them which is very important from customer service point of view. Anyways, for the VFM car i think this is a part of the package [lol]

manza_class , please , do not sign the custemer satisfaction column of the job card, before servicing is done, td taken, car delivered back. My TASS has habit of it.

As per owners mannual, DIS reading s are not valid for 30 minutes after the car is started or restarted and run.

Seems DIS is faulty get it replaced under warranty, as HR mentioned don't wait till next service if you have a problem file a complaint with tata & get it serviced.

no they don't behave like that in reality they are indeed novice (most of them). Their favorite diagnostic method is hit & trial.
