Great Buy Nitin. Congrats and Happy motoring. Did you also tried accesories like LED scuff plate, Arm Rest, Reverse Parking Camera etc. I am planning to buy LED scuff plate for my brio. I am opting for aftermarket, considering the upward prices of the OEM. Let me know if you have opted for such fittings, if yes, can you share the prices.

I had purchased the arm rest but the delhi summers were cruel on its plastic and it gave away within 6 months. Also they are a pain to use in bumper to bumper traffic.

with respect to car parking sensors, i never felt the need since it being a predominently glass hatch, rear parking was never an issue with me.

Doesn't LED scuff plate can void your warranty??
I have got arm rest fitted in my car after I saw Nitin having it & I felt it's a good addition to my car. Luckily mine has survived in Delhi heat till now.... :)
I didn't miss reverse camera/sensors due to brio being all glass hatch.

Hi all,

I bought the Honda Brio 2 years back. I have not been getting very good FE figures from the start. But off late it has decreased even more. In normal traffic I get an FE of about 8-8.5 with AC on. I took it to the service center but they did not provide me any solution. Instead, the CRM said that FE depends on many conditions and rode me off even though I fought a lot with him.
Please suggest what should I do now?

Hi Rikku,

I think that's the That's the premium which will be printed on your insurance policy.
I am sure dealer can give you some more discount on that.
Try more than one honda dealers.

try and ask for discounts.

Was going through this page and noticed the servicing cost of brio, incidentally was also going through servicing cost of vento on another forum in an adjacent tab.naturally I ended up comparing the same with my ritz petrol and some things clearly stand out.
1 many members in the forums comment that maruti servicing isn't cheap in today's scenario but in my case with about 8k Kms run in an year it comes out cheaper.I paid about 3k for first year service for my ritz which includes Rs 700 for engine flush which my father was conned off by the SA
2 service interval of 10k/1 year in ritz is much better than service interval of 10k/6 months in brio.you are saving exactly half the amount. This will be true for everyone because I don't think anyone would be running petrol brio 10k in just 6 months.
3 vw is at a disadvantage in servicing cost for anyone who isn't running close to 15k per year
4 vw cost about Rs 10 k per yr ( although for diesel so that's a oversight on my part as most of the sample data I have is of diesel vw cars )
5 I think both brio and ritz have an option of using mineral oil which is a clear advantage from vw in which it is mandatory to use synthetics and it drives the cost higher.

Honda service is good and spares etc are reasonably priced ( from my experience of owning a Honda for 8 years) but it is high time Honda changes it's service interval to 1yr/10k Kms in all it's cars.atleast in petrol cars this should be done because most of petrol car owners will only be doing close to 10k Kms a year.

guys my driver side ORVM was blown apart when a truck smashed into it while reversing. The damage could have been more but common sense prevailed and the truck driver stopped his truck.

any idea what is the street price of the ORVM ? I enquired from Ring Road Honda and they quoted me Rs 2700 ( cost of blackORVM) + 600 ( color to rallye red + labour) = 3300 in total. I personally feel this is a rip off

My driver side OVRM has been replaced thrice in last 2.5 years. Being the base model (it doesn't even have body color or internal adjustment) costs me around 1400. I know its pain to spend 1.5k for something which we can get in 500 bucks if it's maruti. :(

Is it really that cheap? 500 bucks in place of 1.5k [confused][confused]

i got mine replaced from local repair wallah who sits at IOC petrol pump at KS Krishnan Marg, next to pusa road. Costed me 1200 bucks and at the end of the day helped me save 2100 bucks. I was able to use the back cover of my damaged orvm which saved me the hassle of going for red paint. I have kept the black back cover for any future use.

installed a relay from Hi-Lex, model HI-9046and bulbs from Hella - H4, 100/90W, check pictures attached.

will take my baby for a drive tonite and test the light throw and am expecting much improvement in terms of brightness and visibility.

damage to pocket : 800 bucks all inclusive.
total time taken : 30 minutes.

also had a small dent on the front right side which was bothering me since long. Got it removed today. Damage to pocket 100 bucks.

Mid December 2013 as per the above post and now its April 2015, the left side Hella H4 had gone dim.
The car dealer recommended me these. Even these are also H4, 100/90W The throw is much more that the Hella's but yes damage to pocket is 800 bucks for the pair.

Hi Nitin,

Are you installing them with Relay ?

If yes, then how come damage done to the pocket is same in both the cases of Headlamp change?

I wanna change my headlamp for sometime now but not been able to do so as I have heard that it dmg warranty and even socket can melt in some cases(in other cars).
