My First Car: Tata Zest XT QJD Pristine White

Hello Zestians,
This is my next update after a long drive. First thing first,
1 month 3 days

Now my review after completing 2k km.
Things I liked
1. Car performs great on highway. It flies.
2. FE is awesome. Highway without ac is 24.3, with ac 21.1 and city is 16.8
3. Road handling is very good and it's presence too
4. Ground Clarence is also good. Not even once I hit a bumper
5. Boot space is spacious and 2nd seating too
6. Changing spare tire was very easy. This was first time I changed flat tire. Keep the manual always is the car
7. Ac is super cool, thanks to CR70
8. when kept rpm below 2k, NVH is great
9. Body paint quality is good. Heavy rain, bad road, small rock particles hitting the car still no scratch.
10. Spare tire is of same size, hence you can go on same speed though I preferred 80


Things I did not like
1. High beam is not enough on highways
2. Small issues like call attend button remain inside and have to pull it outside manually, when I flash high beam, DRL also switches on
3. 5 gear, 2k rpm you can reach max 80km/hr speed. To reach 100, you have to cross 2500 rpm.
4. In bad roads, the car was rolling badly. I felt my whole body was moving left and right

Overall I am a happy Zestian.

I have booked XMS QJT and probably taking it delivery by this Thursday. I am also looking for Sun film for Front Windshield, can you advise on the night visibility with CR70, as i will be driving a lot at night due to my office hours?

The Harman system connects to my iPhone too. What? Yes, i was surprised when my iPhone read Harman Bluetooth.

A pleasant surprise for me too. And connecting the iphone to the USB port prompts to download an app. On clicking yes, it opens the app store and then a blank screen titled 'for this accessory'comes up. Any idea what app is this and how to install it?

i would strongly suggest CR70 since it is the best available sun film with that budget. It will not impact your night visibility but you will sure see a big change when high beam from opposite vehicle. I suggest you to visit the nearest 3m car care, they would display the effect of CR70 film, they have a small box inside which they kept a heavy bulb and you can differentiate between ordinary film and CR70 film.

Hi, Happy to share that I am taking delivery of Zest XMS QJT from Concorde Chennai tomorrow. Got a surprise call today from the dealership informing that a celebration (offered Movie tickets in PVR) is planned on Sunday for zest sales numbers crossing 15,000.

It is not completely black but transparent but still not legal to use. However, don’t have any other alternative to escape the heat in Chennai.

Rightly said Jagan. Though these films are not legal but cant bare Chennai heat without these. The advantage of 3M is they paste the film inside and people outside wont even identify it.
I have given a complete review about my expeirence with 3M car care and various services I availed. The cost you mentioned is the same since its standard across all 3M centers unless state tax varies.

One screen was completely blocked and they invited our family members too. Overall it was a good experience and arrangement were done professionally. I say 70% of seats were occupied. Snapshot

Glad to see a lot of zest owners from Chennai.Even I got the pass from dealer, but gave it to my friends as I have already seen the movie. Did you get any gifts or complements from the dealer at the delivery time and how much fuel voucher did he give you ?. I am about to take delivery from concorde ambattur. Also, it would be helpful if you could list down the documents received from dealer during delivery. Thanks bro.
