Today I was stuck in heavy rain while returning from one of my sites. I was near the auto parts market. Parked my activa under a shed and got into a shop just for time pass [;)](to wait for the rain to stop).
I inquired for fog lamps. He started showing many lamps and also offered some tea & snacks. All were of local make. I asked for branded ones. He replied "branded H3 bulbs come for 80rs. But these lamps are for Rs 70(including bulbs). I have seen many autowalas using these single lamps only. The light is good.
Finally ended up buying these:

Photo0584.jpg
Photo0586.jpg
A pair of yellow 80mm(3.14") fog lights for Rs. 140 including 55W H3 bulbs.

Photo0585.jpg
Photo0587.jpg
A pair of white 110mm(4.3") driving lights for Rs. 250 including 55W H3 bulbs.

Photo0583.jpg
A 300W headlamp relay for Rs. 150

Photo0582.jpg
Push-pull switch for Rs. 50

I'll install these lights soon. I'll wire the lights same as headlamps. Driving lights in upper and fog lights in dipper mode.

Thank you for your reply Shantanu. I've upgraded my car with 38amp battery now i'm planning to upgrade headlight with 100/90W its a "philips blue vision bulb". Each cost 350rs. After seeing your fog lamps i'm confused whether to alter headlamps or getting those which you've brought. Will it harm my Battery ??? Do reply thank you [:)]

Hello Varun sir,
I'll not use all lights together. I'll use the 4.3" lamps with low beam head light. I'll also try to use only the 4.3" lamps for driving on roads with less traffic as the are 55W*2 as compared to 100W*2 so will drain less battery. Sooner or later I'll have to change the alty.

Hello Hemanth,
If you are willing to upgrade the Head light bulbs you will also have to upgrade your wiring harness and relay. As stock harness and relay does not support 100/90 headlamps. A hella 400W relay costs Rs. 250. Pair of 100/90 bulbs Rs. 750. Wiring harness would cost Rs 250/- Total cost of upgrade Would be 1250.
You can buy two 4.3" driving lights. I would suggest you to go with branded lamps and bulbs. If you want cheaper solution then you can buy these local brands. You can replace the cheap bulbs to 55W philips or halonix H3 bulbs later. Total cost of installing local make driving lights 55W would be Rs 630 (Rs 300 for lamps(with bulbs) Relay for Rs 80 Wiring and labour charge would be Rs 250)

Try to do a voltage test first before any upgrade using a multimeter to check the alty's charging capacity.

Mr. Shananu, You wroks are good. Somehow I missed this thread. Anyway, when I was going thru you post I wanted post something what happend to m800 with power.

Mostly My driving would be in the evenings with family. So when I start my car in the evening there would not be any problem. We would go smoothly to the first destination [ normally we will cover lot of tasks at one single trip ] with AC and head ligtst on. From the first destination when we start it wont start. some one has to push to start. I changed bateries 2 times. but no improvement. Once I was discussing the same with batery wala, he told me to visit near by car electrical guy. He checked the volt input and it was only 12v with AC and Headlights on. He then just added a wire directly from alternator to batery positive point and WOW. The input to matery was 14v with AC and Headlights. From then for nearly 1 and half years I never faced any problem.

This is just for your information.

Mine was 2008 MPFI model.

Thanks Sethu Sir,
My car's AC is not working presently. I am getting 13.6 with HLs on. Will surely connect the alty directly to the battery if I feel any lack of power.

If you are connecting from atly to battery directly make sure you use a thick wire. I have used the wire as in the pic below.

Note _ I have also retained the stock wire from alty to battery. [:)]

Finally made all the connections.

Installed the relay near the battery.

attached the fog lamps to low and driving lamps to the high beam using a three way headlight switch. another switch attached (fog lt) so that all two lights can be switched on

only the fog lights switched on

all lights switched on

I have connected the lights similar manner to the head lights. So if I use all 4 lights (fog and driving) same as low beam+pass, will it affect the relay ?? Its a 300W relay.

Yes the car was started for first time today. Tomorrow I'll take my car to the office and after I return I'll check the voltage again. (total driving of 15 kms from home to office and back).
