Received my first accessory Scuff Plates from Aliexpress.
Quality looks great, will fix them very soon, and then will post some more snaps.

Still waiting for my leather key cover [:)]
Scuff plates look great [:)] looks like it can be a DIY job. We can stick them ourselves.

Nice ownership review there graptor, could you put a very close up pic of the area with ppf and without together ? Please keep the thread updated
Sure will take some, once my car gets cleaned.

Hi Graptor, the scuff plates really looks cool, is it easy to fix? and how many days did Aliexpress took to delivery this scuff plates and how did it cost you? Sorry for so many questions. [;)]
It took exactly 30 days. Its DIY just peel the 3M sticker and stick it.

Its better to mark the area before applying it. Yet to fix them, as the vehicle is very dirty :)

hey graptor,

You are giving nice mods to your car.

Are you planning to go for any upgrades for headlights from dealers i.e. philips streak bulbs?
Are the for lamps really useful.
Though I have not found the headlights that bad blame it on my previous car, I feel its better to be proactive and change it.

Also, which one do you think is better for accessories? Aliexpress or ebay?

@Vicky : Aliexpress seems to be cheaper and also it has loads of accessories for Ford ecosport more than everything else but the real pain is delivery time which is one month standard for free shipping. BTW, I too have ordered keychain and exterior chrome plates rear one and mats. Yet to receive though.
@graptor : Thanks for the 3M prices. Share more about your highway experience . With respect to hard braking. Any nose dive ?

I am planning for Philips Xtreme Vision headlamps. As I mentioned before my only problem is during rainy days and wet roads. Otherwise stock headlamps are good.

Ebay is little expensive but there are some items which are cheaper in Ebay like the LED Illuminated Scuff plates (for only 1200 Rs). I ordered from AliExpress because at that time no one was selling accessories on Ebay.

The prices will come down, as the sellers order more pieces of same product.

The short trip from Bangalore to Tumkur was on highway itself. The car is well poised even under hard braking. Yes nose dive is there because of long suspension travel, but you won't loose the grip on the car, and you will stay in complete control. The car doesn't go sideways under hard braking.

Above 100 kmph speeds Ecosport feels a bit out of breath, as I being a sedate driver 100 kmph is a max speed, so no issues here.

The high seating position gives a commanding view, which helps a lot when overtaking trucks and other big vehicles.

No way the suspension is bone jarring, passengers only gets swayed.

In the night I would recommend using fog lamps, as these will really help while taking turns.

The higher GC, a mere 3 CM more than my Eon [;)], makes a lot of difference, as I was able to park my car on a very uneven road on which any other non-SUVish vehicle would have scrapped its underbelly.

At least in my car the clutch is not as light as Swift/Eon, may be I need to check this during the first service.

Illuminated Scuff Plates please have it Fixed at dealer place,

because it deals with electric wirings and anything wrong done will cost the electrical equipments warranty, am telling this as one such incident happened with metro ford and they send photo of the Illuminated scuff plates and the way the outside shop messed up with the wiring which costs the customer to live with out electrical warranty and some other electrical unit to fail

Thanks for sharing. From my one day experience with the ES, I can say that it has very good sorted dynamics. But I had a frightening experience where I was taking ES to the parking lot through a narrow steep way to a mall, the front right tyre was literally spinning and was lacking for grip while other cars easily got through the steep route[surprise].Dont know what is the reason behind either to curse the tyre (Goodyear)grip or something even using handbrake didnt help as the car started sliding backwards slowly[cry]. But it never happened to our swift in the same route taken numerous times. So , thinking to change the tyre with same spec ASAP. Contradicting to the toppling incident, my Dad was rather enjoying corners with ES than swift at highway speeds eventhough steering felt light at high speeds but it didnt bother much.

Good to see that you are keeping the thread alive with updates.

You are welcome. Absolutely similar incident happened with me on a steep incline coming out of basement parking, even after using handbrake and also hard braking the car was skidding backwards.

Its absolutely issue with the grip of the Tyre, as they were brand new when that incident happened.

Now after 1500 kms of running, I feel the Tyre grip has increased. My office parking is a multilevel one, and has inclines. I tried few times to stop the car in the middle of the incline and move forward. Now I don't feel the car is loosing grip.

I would advice not to force the car on corners, as I feel a small stone or uneven surface can topple/imbalance any car, not only Ecosport. I don't have scientific explanation about this, but bikes too with even good Tyres do skid under such circumstances.

You are right, any electrical additions should be done by the dealer/service center only. Any cheap or incorrect electrical fitting could actually cause an accident or fire. Voiding the warranty is another drawback.

Did you try cruising at 120 or so ? How was the engine response then ? Lot of reports coming on on how the diesel isn't great past 100. My dealer is still not ready to give me a long TD, 3 months after booking [frustration]

Once you cross 90 kmph it takes a while to reach 120 kmph speeds, engine is responsive but struggles a bit above 100 kmph with AC on and full load. I am not the kind of person who pushes above 100 kmph speeds. I don;t belive in above 100 kmph speeds on Indian roads because of many reasons (stray cattle, stray people, broken vehicle in mid/right lanes, invisible intersections, villages etc)

I am not able to find the website which I shared, which is that website can you please point out. It might be Mars Red only, the shade could change to dark Orange in some lighting conditions.[:)]

I agree with you,100kmph is quite fast and at times even dangerous on our roads. I was interested in knowing its capabilities at such speeds mainly for those "emergency" overtaking maneuvers where a powerful engine will help. Anyway, a remap should take care of it :) Also, can you post your impression on the in-gear acceleration timings ? ACI says the Duster 85 is much faster in the 20-80 and 40-100 mark
