Nice write up Karthik[clap]. Your Amaze looks good, but you are making it better. I am also planning for headlamp and cabin lamp change to some bright white LEDs. Are the connectors are common for all cars[confused]. I think we should plan for a meet to analyze your car.

Thanks for the compliment Vinod.

Yes, we should meet one fine day in bright day light in some coffee shop, so that we can have nice chat and can review the cars.

Venkythaniks and Mr. Sethu is also interested for a meet, lets organize.[:)]

At last, I was left with only one option to protect my car from the Cuties and Naughties, who are playing around the car.

I have ordered a car cover from eBay, the one with Matty finish, thicker than the normal parachute material, double stitch, mirror pockets and roof antenna.

This cost is INR 750 with 7% discount [:)]

How was quality of cover?
i have [frustration] experience for my grand i10

It was as expected. As I mentioned cover I received is thicker than the normal parachute material and with double stitches, looks durable and water proof.

I was thinking of going with the blue cover, but they are almost double the price. In eBay, you can read reviews of the buyer to have a little idea before we buy the product.

I am quite happy with the quality.

Karthik, Its always better to keep the car covered, especially in apartments. Even my sparky has so many marks by these small kids. You can scold them or teach them. Very few learnt certain things at that age. others even though they nod their head what ever we say that will be only for that moment. when they started playing they forget all the instructions.

BTW, for your cover it should have strap only in sideways. (from left to right) if it does comes out because of wind then you can have another same kind of strap from front to back. so the cover wont come-out easily due to wind. I had this problem earlier. When you see after a day half of the car would be uncovered.

So I took to lining shop (where two wheeler seat cover/tank covers are stitched and sold) they can help you with this.

Just a suggestion for effective covering and taking care of your AMAZE.

My cover comes with elastic in front and back, so this holds the cover to the car and even have a side buckle. So wind has very less effect on this cover.[:D]

What Sethu says is correct. I have a similar cover and under high winds the front does come off exposing the bonnet.

Its rare to have those type of storms (may be once in three years), but it does happen.. personal experience :-)

Recently I went on a 1350-km Road Trip to Wayanad; this helped me to understand my car’s capability in a better way.

I was so addicted to my Polaroid goggle due to the glare which was caused by the dashboard on the wind shield.

My single-handed driving gave me little pain in my shoulder, but from the next day I used both the hands to steer, which not only eased the pain but also gave me good command over track; I love the precision of the Steering.

Missed:

- The temperature gauge as I drove 620km with a single break for 45mins.

- The speed-sensing automatic door locks, as my Wife kept on reminding me to lock the doors, which I never learnt.

Likes:

- The ample space available for the right leg behind C pedal to rest in Highway cruising.

- The Day and Night Rear View Mirror during night driving.

- The boot space; even after my Wife took 4 pairs of slippers, etc., etc. for a 4-day trip, there was an ample space left.

- Driver seat was so comfortable even for a stretch of 12hr journey.

- AC was too good as I drive almost in sunny day, never felt the heat inside.

- In the complete trip, it never scrapped the underbody or the bumper.

- Managed to drive in paths where only Trucks and Jeeps are commuted.

- Solid and well planted in high-speed cornering.

- Last but not the least, the mileage of the iVtec, averaging 18kmpl for the entire trip (Total fuel consumption method)

Dislikes:

- This is the first time I choose A R Rahman songs with good Bass, but with the very first song, I was very much disappointed with the vibration of plastic door panels.

- There are no notifications for the Remote locking other than a silent blink, which is very hard to notice during day time.

Mistakes:

- Many a time I drove in 4th Gear forgetting to upshift to 5th Gear.

Learnt:

- Switching the AC off = downshifting a Gear in steeps.

- Many a time 2nd Gear failed to climb a deep steep; this taught me holding the car in steep with 1st Gear without applying brakes. This helps me crawl in deep steep with Vehicles line up behind.

BTW, a wonderful Audio Book made me drive thru 9:00am to 9:00pm with 45mins break in between without fatigue.[;)]
