As a part of Mods, I have ordered few items from ebay yesterday.

9 SMD 5050 Parking lights:
9SMD.jpg
Parking lights are of T10 bulbs, so I have ordered 9 SMD 5050 T10 Parking lights as a replacement.

Though this is not going to help you in any mean, but will produce a bright white light.[;)]

24 SMD white dome/roof light:
24SMD.jpg
I am bit bored with the dull roof light, so want to try bright white SMDs

Doom/roof lights are of 31mm festoon type, so I have ordered 24 SMD white dome/roof light as a replacement.

Jopasu Gift Pack (Small):
JOPASU.JPG
My area is a super dusty area, my car gets a visible layer of dust coating within a day, so I believe this will reduce my burden of cleaning as well as car’s, from possible scratches from these muddy dusts while cleaning.
Now eagerly waiting for the delivery of these items.[:)]

I have fixed the very same one in my city and I feel that I need to add one more as the holder is large and 2 of them will fit great. The light from one is bright enough though.

In a week’s time my car will be completely covered with a thick coat of muddy dust. So every weekend (BTW, I use my car mostly in weekends only, as my office is only 3km from home) starts with a war between me and the dust settled on my car over the week and the battle field is my car.

Many car lovers advised me to be very cautious about the scratches unconsciously we induce on the paint while we battle with the dust.

So I do a gentle wet cloth (not very wet but only with little moisture in it) wipe on the entire car, resulting with dust marks here and there when dries. Therefore I have to go for a shampoo wash and this will take one hour of my time; this is fine, but when we plan for an early ride, then this becomes a challenge.

So when I was searching for some way to tackle this situation, I came across this name in internet with good credits. Thus I ordered Jopasu Duster in ebay a couple of days back.

I received it today. After I put this on test, I want to write a short review on it.

Jopasu Duster:
I have already mentioned that mine is a super-dusty area. So anything which is going to challenge this dust is going to be a real benchmark.
IMG_2179.JPG

The duster arrived in a larger pack than I visualized (BTW the delivery came in a small truck).
IMG_2173.JPG

I have read people complaint about the handle strength, but the handles are good and strong to me. As I believe if the handle is too strong, then we will be applying more force on the paint, so I am OK with it. Yet to try the Magic Wipe!!
IMG_2174.JPG

This is a wonderful tool; this absolutely does the job it promises.

The brushes are made of cotton; the manufacture says that it is specially baked with some wax, but it gets easily dirty with the usage (BTW we are suppose to shake it well before and after use to lose the accumulated dust). The handle size and the brush area are pretty big; this really helps in covering area quickly and effectively. A good duster cover was part of the purchase, and it helps to pack the duster and keep it in the car.

As promised, this duster doesn’t move the dust but effectively removes it, that too quickly. This is really a must have for the lazy people (like me) or very busy people who just want to spend few minutes to clean their car.

I was really impressed with the time I spend to clean my car, right from the paint to glasses. I get complete satisfaction; this is worth the money I spent and I strongly recommend it for all the car lovers.

My 2-minute test result:

This is the end result of the duster.

I, too, am planning the above 2 items for my City. Can you post pictures of these and the cost?

Car exhaust muffler tip pipe:

I have bought this Exhaust Muffler Tip Pipe from eBay for INR 398 with 7% discount. The Muffler tip is from Speedwav, but the quality is not that good but VFM. I found some rust while I took some closeup shots to present.

This is a universal pipe for 2.5in exhaust pipe, this will fit in most of the mid segment cars. But please check for your car exhaust pipe size, before making an order.

eBay link for quick reference Car exhaust muffler tip pipe

This is how it looks in my car. Gives a sporty look isn't it??

When this is not fitted perfectly to the exhaust pipe it vibrates.[evil]

How easy it is to clean the duster?
Cleaning the dust is very easy and quick with simple swipes[:)]

Cleaning the duster, I have wait till it gets very dirty [;)] and instruction say, wash with cold water with mild soap

Think Duster is doing it's job pretty well [clap]

Why don't you buy a Car cover , since it's getting this much dusty every week ?
Yes, I am thinking of buying a cover for 2 reasons

1) Dust
2) Children

My apartment children love “Honda Cars” very much than we do. Very first day one naughty boy asked me “Uncle, is this HONDA? ” with excitement, so by default all the children play around my car and I see lots of visible scratches due to bangals and toys. As I love them, I have no complaints on them.

But I have heard and read that many car lovers complaint about using a cover

• Cover can be put on clean car only, else we will have scratches and swirl marks on the car
• It’s very tricky to remove dusty cover without getting the car dusty
• Should clean both the car and the cover, so double the work

End of the day, my Amaze is taking all the scratches

Can someone enlighten on this topic?

Dear Karthikkrish

Looking at the picture, the kind of dust over your car, I would advise you the following steps.

First, dust out by a long MF cloth or by long banian cloth/ banian cloth waste/banian cloth legging used by ladies (please don’t laugh, just try [;)])

Second ,wipe out by Jopasu duster (it will give long life to your duster)

Third, wipe softly by MF cloth to remove finger marks to keep clean surface, without this the cleaning process would be incomplete.

To remove stubborn dirts, follow the advise as in my following thread, by using water spray / ONR dilution. I would advise you to keep one bottle of ONR&S shampoo, a must have in your daily spray bottle (10ml/ litre of water) to clean day today dirt,

Please wait for my detailed write up about exhaust / muffler pipe tip.

Thank you Doctor, I really admire your self interest in sharing your knowledge and experience.

I appreciate the 3 step cleaning process.

I initially tried the FIRST process and failed to achieve the desired result. Thus I would like to raise my doubts on the FIRST cleaning process.

I tried my level best using the banian cloth, but the amount of dust accumulate is beyond the dry cleaning process with the banian cloth. In my case the banian cloth got completely dusty and started to move the dust and stopped to remove it. So I end up moving dust from one place to another and this is an endless process in my case.

BTW, my friend says this would end up in scratches and swirls.

So I end up with wet cleaning. (one of my friend, a car lover, gave this idea)

I use the same cloth, but I wet (I squeeze it to the extend, to make sure this is not leaving any water marks on the paint) it before the wipes, only this wetness is helping me in removing the dust and I wash it immediate to clean the dust for next wipe. This is very effective but takes too much of time and at some point it leaves wet marks here and there.

Kindly highlight me, where I go wrong or this wet wipes really harmless?

BTW, I have gone through the Car Detailing Basics thread, it’s really amazing!!!
