looks like i can't upload the same pics twice. anyways you can see the pics here

ecosport door visor
They look great D.J.D. I was really worried when I saw that the front door visors were not matching after I purchased. I still have them. I will fix them this weekend.

How about your ES performance. I have done 6500 kms so far. Now the suspensions seem to be better. I am getting a mileage of around 14-15 in Bangalore city with A/C.

Yes venkat these door visors are really good. It improves the look of the car. Get in fixed in your car ASAP.

So far my car is performing well. I am really satisfied [:)]. Only issue is some minor rattles from driver side door and dashboard. The rattles are not like normal rattles. If i drive the car on potholes i can't hear any rattle. But if i drive the car hard on broken patches i can hear some faint rattling. Hope during next service i can get it fixed.

Regarding suspension you are right. It is really surprising. Now the stiffness has gone. Ride has become smooth compared to the earlier days.

10K km Update

Friends,

My ecosport has clocked 10K km. Two days back I gave my car for the second free service. Total service cost was Rs. 2230.

While giving my car for servicing I made the following complaints:

1. Minor rattling sound from both the front doors.
2. Some kat kat sound from the rear hatch door.
3. Occasional noise from front suspension.
4. Very faint rattling from the centre of the dashboard.

Status after servicing:

1. Door rattling has gone.
2. Kat kat sound has reduced but not resolved completely.
3. Suspension noise has gone.
4. Faint rattling from dashboard – reduced but not resolved completely.

Condition of the car after 10K km servicing:

1. Engine has become super smooth. Now if I don’t see the speedometer, I can’t realise that already I touched 80 – 90 kmph.
2. AC has improved drastically.
3. But the biggest surprise is the gear shifts. Now it has become slick and super smooth.

Feedback after 10K km running:

1. Build quality is solid. The car still feels tight.
2. The suspension has become smooth. Stiffness has gone. Now ride quality on highway is superb.
3. The 1.5 ltr diesel engine does not like hurriedness. It is to be driven sedately.
4. The 1st and 2nd gear is too short for my liking. From 3rd onwards it is fine.
5. FE – continuously getting 19 – 20 KMPL.
6. Except some minor rattling from doors, I have not faced any issue till date.
7. Blind spots- There are few blind spots. While taking turn or going through a roundabout we should be careful.
8. Comfortable car for long drives.

Nice 10k kms update @D.J.D about short gearing, Ecosport needs short gearing, If gearing is long the turbo lag will be felt much more, take the case of Ecoboost the biggest reason why people complain about turbo lag is due to long gearing which amplifies the effect of lag, If gearing is short the engine will redline soon and pics up rpm easily stays north of 1500 rpm where usually turbos tend to kick,

turbo lag is much less desirable thing, I wish Ford had geared Ecosport Ecoboost the same way the diesel is tuned right now, remember the Fiesta 1.5 TDCi as well, it too had huge lag, same engine but still heavier car is Ecosport but better gear ratios made Ecosport way more derivable than Fiesta 1.5 TDCi

@1989rs50 regarding turbo lag you are right. I know for initial pulling short gears are necessary for small turbo diesel engines. Actually this is my first diesel car. That may be the reason.

Glad to hear that ES is a great highway mile muncher[:)]. It seems rattling is a big concern in ES[frustration]. Since the NVH levels are well controlled , it would further amplify the rattling noise.
Regarding rattling you are right bro. If I crack open the driver side or passenger side window I cant hear the rattling. BUt If I close all the windows I can hear the faint rattles.

15K update

So, friends after long time I am updating this thread. My cute devil has crossed 15k km in the last 9 months. Let me share my experience with my cute devil during this period.

First the bad bits

1. The interior plastic quality and fit and finish cannot match with Hyundai, VW. Some parts are below average. I can hear occasional faint rattles from driver door and centre console.
2. Rattle from rear hatch door. It gives kat-kat sound. But the problem is, sometime it will appear and after sometime there won’t be any rattle from the hatch. I guess the gas/hydraulic strut of the rear hatch door is the culprit.
3. Tyre noise has increased a bit. BTW my Ecosport has Goodyear tyres.
4. The OEM rear wheel cover fitting is not good. Nowadays while closing the rear door the wheel cover gives a “Thap” sound.
5. Occasional noise from front driver side suspension.

Now Good things

1. Smooth and efficient 1.5 ltr TDCi engine. But it is not smoother than the fiat multijet. Good for highway cruising. I am constantly getting 19-20 kmpl average.
2. Very very minimal turbo lag. The car can be driven in city with ease. No need of frequent gear change.
3. Steering wheel feedback is good. At parking speed the steering wheel is super light. One finger is sufficient to steer the car. With speed it weighs up nicely. So far I have not faced any vibration/wobbliness on the steering wheel. I have touched maximum speed of 150kmph. At that speed the steering wheel was rock solid.
4. High speed ride quality is superb.
5. Solid exterior build quality.
6. Handling is really great considering the high GC.
7. Reasonable maintenance cost. So far I have spent only 2k for servicing. That’s all.
8. Fantastic AC. My friends who drive I20, Dezire, Zen, I10 agree that this is one of best ACs in this segment.

Regarding the rattling noise

I felt its related to fords child parts strategy

What is child part strategy? Instead of a big single piece costly part, they divide the part in to many small part and integrate them togather to form the same big part.
How i believe it is related rattling issue, more plastic parts put togather in the interior such as dash board, while covering more miles on bad or patchy indian roads, during the aging process this marts gets loosen and causing vibration, and the noise goes off when dealers refit them and put them back to default position

What do you say
