Re: My Beautiful Beast Punto MJD 1.3: 14 Months 28,000Kms and Still Going Strong

So you think this tank like car is going to be damaged getting stuck in sand..Wow.amazing conscience.[frustration]
No, Actually the tyres were stuck so deep inside, that front bumper was tuching the ground. And although car has built like tank, but bumpers are mere plastic. [;)]

Not doubt that Punto is mini Tank, but as Dharmesh mentioned the bumpers are of plastic. Punto has more GC than other cars but the nose is too sloping.

Belly wont, but doubtful for front bumper. [confused]
The upgrade was to lift the front bumper. So bumper is safe IMO.

GC kit is just change in front side for Punto to lift up the nose. From what I have read across internet, It has not hampered the handling a bit.

Re: My Beautiful Beast Punto MJD 1.3: 16 Months 28,000Kms and Still Going Strong

Punto went in for 3rd free service at 29551 KM.

Issues raised.

  1. Rear water spray not working.
  2. Minor squeak from dash.
  3. Squeaking sound from front suspensions while going over high bump.
  4. Rear left tyre unusual wear.

SE said it may take more than one day to deliver the car. Lets hope Punto comes back in one piece.

Dharmesh,

Do you consider this as a major service or minor ! My reason for asking this, because to me these are not major works (I might be wrong) but still they are asking for a day. [confused]

I am not sure why they require more than a day, But I dint argue. As I dont want to push them to deliver me half serviced car in one day. [;)]

Re: My Beautiful Beast Punto MJD 1.3: 16 Months 28,000Kms and Still Going Strong

Got my car on Thursday from 3rd free service.

All the issues raised are somewhat resolved. For rear tyre issue they said the alignment of the rear suspensions are alright no issues with it. Though I will get I checked form outside.

The total bill for the service was Rs.14186. This includes normal oil and filters change plus front break pad change plus front rotor skimming plus stone guard repair.

Bills copy for the reference:

Everything went smooth until I went for delivery after making payment I went to check the car, And to my surprise there wee oil/polish marks on exterior of the cars. One person was cleaning it half heartedly. So ask him to clean all the marks by pin pointing those one after other. This was not enough, I went inside the car and it was dusty all over. There was not much difference in state of the interiors when compared with the state before going for service. There were polish marks on instrument cluster and on the HU. The mud marks on the car floor were as it is. On top of it SA was trying to explain me that we only vacuum the car dont clean it and this was surprise for me. And he was pushing me to have some 3M interior foam treatment. I was just so much pissed off, left from there. Picked up my wife from her office.

Next day went to work and shoot a mail to FIAT service.

Here is my mail to them

Today received call from Fortune Motors as well. I was busy so asked them to call after 4PM. Still waiting for their call.

Here is another story, Yesterday I had a meeting at work at 2.30 AM in night meeting got over at around about 4 AM and left from the office and reached my building at 4.30 AM. So after reaching my place got down of the car to open the society gate, And to my surprise my car's front number plate was broken and lower grill was mis aligned. So I left it as it is and went to sleep, although I was not able to sleep tight as this thing was always moving around in my mind. So first thing I woke up in morning and got the grill aligned properly from the local mechanic, and labor charge for the same was Rs. 10.[clap]. Got new number plate as well. But the place where I got my number plate done was far away from my house and my number plate was half broken, so did a jugaad to save myself from COPS. Here is the pic of the jugaad. [lol]

Now the review. So far the journey with my beauty is awesome. I enjoyed each and every KM that we covered together. There is nothing new to write about Punto. So this time I thought let me note down all the negative points about Punto.

  1. Driver seat for the Punto is flawed. No under thigh support what so ever. On my recent trip to rajasthan I had to keep pillow under my thigh so that it does not pain.
  2. There are no place to keep even 500 ml bottles. The cup holder are useless as well. There are 2 cup holders in front of gear knob, but if you keep anything there, It will hamper your gear slotting.
  3. And this one every one knows, Punto is damn sluggish. [anger]
  4. Why clutch press is very long only GOD and FIAT knows.

These are the only negatives from my side, but despite of the negatives in the car, I still have a big grin on my face everytime I take my car on highway. This is my so far journey with my Punto. With so many ups and downs w are still together smiling , going strong and crunching miles.

Tomorrow, I am going for 2 day trip to Manas Resort near Igatpuri. Expect few pics from my side.

That's good that everything is fine with your car, and liked the way fiat responded.

Re: My Beautiful Beast Punto MJD 1.3: 16 Months 28,000Kms and Still Going Strong

Hey Dharmesh, thanks for sharing the service details.

Regarding the cleaning guys, you know sometimes we customers have to be kinda friendly with them, I mean quite a lot friendly. I have seen this many times, if you take it lightly and treat them better, they would be more than happy to serve you promptly.
I am saying this from my own experience. I talk with them in tone of 'yaar aise kar do' or 'mast kaam kiya hai' all such things (I hope you understand what I am saying).
I am sure you would also not be behaving rudely with them, but sometimes customers also have to take it patiently and give those guys another chance.

I hope I am not being too charitable towards the workshop people, and you would take it in right spirit!!

Also, can you tell me the regular service bill out of the total bill you mentioned?
