Hi friends. With reference to the previous thread, I would like have a detail update on the below doubts.

1. Is teflon coating necessary. Should I go with dealer or 3M?
Dealer - Rs. 3300 ; 3M - Rs. 2700

2. Does the new cars come with anti rust coating? Is it necessary?
Dealer- Rs. 3000 ; 3M - Rs. 3430 with 5 years warranty
3M guys suggest to go for silencer coating also which costs Rs. 1137.

3. Reverse parking camera. The dealer charges 3 times than after market. Maruti advises the non-MGA accessories that tamper the electrical wiring would tamper the warranty. Will the 3rd party guys tamper with the electrical wiring for fitting the reverse camera.
Dealer - Rs. 13000 (Discount available) ; 3rd Party - Rs. 4000-5000

4. Sun film. The dealer has solar guard film and I have not heard of that brand.
Dealer - Rs. 2800 ; 3M - Rs. 5800 ; Other 3rd party - 2500 for solar guard and 3800-4000 for 3M

5. Maintenance package 5yr 50k - Rs. 22047
The entire maintenance for 5 years will be taken care by maruti.

The showroom guy said only once in a year service is required and the costs would be within Rs. 5000/service. So is this package helpful? Bcoz if we divide 22000 for 5 years it is Rs. 4400/yr. So I didn't find any advantage of taking this pack.

It would be of great help if you help me in the above matters.

1. Not necessary
2. Not necessary
3. Go for MGA ones. But I agree pricing is quite a loot. XUV rev-cam costs 4k from delaer itself.
4. All kinds of films are banned legally, So I can't comment here.
5. Maintenance pack is quite attractive deal. Better go for it.

Hi Alpha,

No MGA doesn't include IRVM integrated display. It is a small display which will be fixed in the dashboard. I had a look at the entire set. The camera lens like from stone age, huge. Its entirely waste of money. We can get better ones for 4k in aftermarket stores.

An expert installer will not void warranty on Aftermarket Installs.
Ask them to take power only directly from the battery via a relay. The reverse gear trigger is often taken from Reverse lamp wire. If some adapter is used rather than wire cutting, Warranty can be preserved.

Refer to post # 120 of this thread -

http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/accessories-modifications/5953-maruti-suzuki-alto-accessories-modifications-8.html

There you can see the pictures of IRVM integrated display priced at Rs. 13500. The member managed another 8% off on this. The one with a seperate display is priced slightly higher by the way but I guess integrated one is better.

Regards,
Alpha

I checked with the dealer, they say this model is not available now. Maybe it has been stopped.

Even in official MGA website and catalog this model is not listed.

Which 3M Showroom you went to?
I checked the one in Sarjapur Road. For underbody they quoted me 4008rs and for teflon they said 4123rs. For front windshield CR 70 they said 7584. (these rates were for Medium. Not sure if wagon r falls in small or medium according to them)

@bhvm, you say teflon coating is unnecessary but people suggested me to go for this for a new car as it prevents from minor scratches and protects paint. Isn't it true?

Hi,

I checked with kalyan nagar 3M showroom. Yes front windshield CR70 is approx 7500. The teflon coating is 2700 and indira nagar 3M told it will be 1800, 3300 & 4500 three types. Underbody both quoted rs. 3420 with 5 years warranty.

Hi pals, now as I came to know that stingray has been stopped and will not be in production, me & wife bit skeptical about whether we can go ahead with stingray or change to celerio zxi (o) amt. Please advise.

Stingray was nothing but a mod of regular Wagon-R.
Just that the Headlights, Front Bumper and some styling is different. I do not see any problem with mechanical parts availability and general service.

Also, you'll be holding a unique vehicle which will be uncommon on our roads. I'll say go ahed.

I would suggest go for Tiago xz. Atleast test drive once before you make a decision. I was planning to buy Celerio then Grand i10. I found Tiago to be 100 times better than Celerio and booked xz. It felt too good for the price offered. I didn't look for i10 as I already have one at home. And now even i10 is stopped. Unless you're looking for amt ofcourse.

Yes all other models ruled out as none have amt. I drove tiago's petrol as well diesel. As the car is heavy, it needs a more punchy engine. It is my individual opinion. The rear is cramped. Otherwise it is so good for the price and features. I liked the design. Maruti really had made use of the AMT market. I thought hyundai will introduce some model at least grand i10, but they are always late to the party (When the party ends).

I think both Grand i10 and Tiago AMT would launch next year so Celerio is the only option in AMT in that range I guess. I would suggest Celerio over Wagon R as wagon R is too small car. Width is so less that seating 3 on the back is a nightmare. In Celerio atleast you can do that for some distance.
