Great first drive and the impression of the Brezza is more clear now, its a good car but not the best but, for an average Indian its everything they need in 1 package, good work MSIL

few questions

Anti pinch is for driver side only right?

The reversing camera and its quality, specially at low light?

A pillars, were they big like in Ecosport?

@Akash. Thanks a lot for the very detailed review.
Although there is a lot of expectation on VB because of the SUV body style, one has to wait and watch how things stack up after 3-6 months.
Apart from the raised driving position and increased ground clearance, there seem to be no advantage over a sedan.

Absolutely, the Anti Pinch and Auto Up feature is only for Driver's Window.

Buddy as the TD was done in afternoon so low light testing was not possible but yes the display would surely be decent since its the same unit that is used in Baleno and S-Cross

Not as much big in my view.

Thanks for such a detailed review Akash. It would be very beneficial if you compare it with its direct rivals too (TUV 300 and Ford Ecosport). Also, since the price range is accross Hatchbacks and Compact SUV's the review would be more perfect if you also compare it with the leading hatches like elite i20.

Cheers !!!

The review is as I expected. Now, here is a question.

Am echoing what @Carma said a few posts above.
Vitara Brezza vs S-Cross vs Ertiga. All the three have nearly the same feature and performance. I am considering an Ertiga which will be primarily used as a 5 seater. The Ertiga offers the most flexibility, decent enough features and is the cheapest of the lot. Throw in the Ciaz and you get good boot space as well.
Beyond a point, the novelty of the Brezza begins to wear off. Average boot space, similar seating capacity, similar engine. Whats the real point ? 198mm of ground clearance ?
Atleast MS should have given it an AWD capability to go with the soft-roadability.

The demand will definitely grow considering this is the new trend to have vehicles with a SUV Stance.

The waiting periods are already mind boggling with 11 weeks being minimum and touching 25 weeks for the top end ( dual -tone)
To keep the momentum going the Vitara Brezza petrol - 1.0L bosterjet will debut in the festive season.

Again they could work on a 7 seater on this platform and reach out to another segment.

The range topping Vitara AWD ( > 4m) is under works and will most likely debut in 2017 .

So in summary this is just the beginning of Maruti Suzuki's foray into so called C/SUV segment.

Maruti Ciaz is better buy than Baleno,S Cross,Vitara brezza and Ertiga
Saw the Brezza on roads and the presence is way below par compared to Ecosport,TUV300,etc, the Ciaz at least is a great sedan and has plush interiors as specialty, the hype for Brezza is just the hype every Maruti product gets in India,
Its a good car but definitely Ecosport,Ciaz,Vento,Honda City,Hyundai Elite i20,are better products

Its just here in India these cars will get this kind of reception, and thats because Maruti has over 1800 dealers and service networks in India, its a mass effect, I still didnt like Vitara Brezza like I expected it to be, its just too average C SUV that gets sold off just because the brand is so popular, I would still say Maruti Ciaz is still a way better product than Vitara Brezza, If Maruti can price a Ciaz with good features and >4m length at such good prices the Brezza clearly is over priced as well

I don't know, this is offensive or not, But I hate the plastics used inside the car. This compact vehicle looks great, and being a well known MJD 1.3 it will perform better for sure. Even I am not driven yet. And the so called low price is touching a million mark for the top end.

Being a Maruti, it will be a hit anyway.

Honestly, Brezza is not useful in your case since 1K Kms/month or less is something which can be well covered by a petrol car. No need of owning a diesel Brezza[:)] In my opinion instead of Brezza, Zeta version Baleno Petrol is good enough.

In that case take a deep deep look into the Ecosport 1.5 TiVCT Titanium, its a heavily under rated car, it is more than enough for most buyers refined, comfortable, extremely reliable and efficient enough, safer and with the extra money savings one can always get reverse camera, and essentials as after market,

Well said[clap]
Ciaz when launched in 2014 had similar waiting periods as well.
Its definitely a VFM product compared to Brezza. For limited city use and occasional highway use the Ciaz petrol is more than enough.
Thats the reason why I cancelled my booking for Brezza and went for Ciaz instead.
BTW, the SA did not bat an eyelid when I cancelled my Brezza booking. He might have been relieved that he has one less phone call to answer about Brezza.[:D]
