Its a safety feature to prevent you getting into 1st is there is any motion. Its normal. When you cant shift into 1st, shift into 2nd and tge car will handle just fine

The same thing happens to my Ritz petrol. I have been contemplating to raise the issue on next periodical servicing. Now learning it is normal feeling relieved.

Swift vdi 2010 model suspension issue.

Hello friends ,

I have a swift vdi 2010 model. It has clocked 1.10L kms but very well manitained as I get everything checked at MASS. However there is a serious issue with the car. I usually drive the car on city roads so the grip of the tyres is pretty good. The issue is the suspension makes a lot of noise while driving and it feels like I am driving through a bumpy road even if the road has minor patches. Even a small bump feels like a mountain and my car makes noise as if there is no suspension. Is it possible that all the four suspensions have developed crack in the spring ? It irritates me to drive the car with such noise.

Please suggest what should I do. I have changed the tyres at 45K.

Also suggest any good garage in Ahmedabad for a thorough suspension checkup.

Thanks

One of my dezire tyres has gone kaput at 60k. all arr MRF
Which one should i buy and should i buy online
Are you planning to replace the worn off tyre alone ?
Normally Tyre replacement should be in pairs (Mostly all will change 4 tyres,if there's lack of money ,better to replace say front pair /back pair)

Michelin is a proven brand .(Bit on higher side ,but best, soft rubber )
Bridgestone (VFM, hard rubber)

It needs full suspension checkup.
Check for bulges in Tyres or abnormal tyre wear.(Possible indication of worn out suspension)

Maruti Servicing - Fuel Injector/Throttle body cleaning/Engine Carbonizing????

I own a SWIFT VXI, I am confused on the below things while i go for servicing at MASS:

Fuel Injector Cleaning - What interval and what is it??
Throttle body Cleaning - What interval and what is it??
Engine Decarbonizing - What is it, when to get it done??
Engine oil flushing

At maruti service centre, the service advisor, do suggest few of the above things to be done[frustration].

So need advise from the group what is it exactly and when it needs to be done. Also can it be done from outside, like we do not go for alignment and balancing of wheels in servicing @authorized service centre

Have you done any of the folllwing things done ever?
Get the fuel injector cleaning(they will remove the injectors and clean it via chemicals, do this every 15k kms) and throttle body cleaning(do ask them if they will remove the part or just use a spray to clean it) using spray is easy but service center will charge 2-3 times for the job. No need for engine decarb or engine flush. And timing belt is changed at 1 lakh kms.

And yes you can easily get it done from outside.

My car SWIFT petrol has done 102000 km, when should we change the timing belt???
Which model, if it is K series then its timing chain, until unless there is a problem with engine timing usually detected by ECM error codes much earlier before any serious functional disability there is no need of changing timing chain.

Hi all,
My friend has a Swift Vxi 2006 model
Done about 93000kms

Just yesterday we got the below parts changed -
Clutch plate
Pressure plate
Releaser bearing
Clutch cable
Flywheel
Flywheel bearing
Wiper motor
Gear oil 2.5ltrs
Brake pads for front
Wiper blade
&
Coolant elbow.

The problem we have now is the parts guy gave us alto's elbow - which 99% same as swift. However the thermostat won't fit in. As there is a difference In the thread. Will post a clear pic soon.
The old elbow had a mild crack which expands only when too hot and leaks coolant. Resulting in coolant loss.

Here is a pic of old and new flywheel.
Total bill so far is 7000/- approx
