@ caasberi - Thanks for the Roufrails Pic. These Roufrails guys are based in Coimbatore and do not have any other dealer across india. They are visiting Mumbai next week when i will have an opportunity to meet them and discuss on the availability in Mumbai. Its Costs around Rs.15,000/-. I liked those Roufrails bcos besides giving a nice look on the car it can also be used as Roof carrier.

Hi Prem,

Can you pl let the TAI members know as to where did you buy the Front row armrest for your Ertiga? Its really augumented very well and I'm sure very comfy for long drives. I'm finding the space crunch near driver area and would love to have the arm rest fitted - i.e. what you have put in your Ertiga.

Pl respond with details....and thanks in advance :)

thanks in advance.

hi mahi
first of all sorry for replying so late. I got this armrest fitted from car luxury, sector 15, noida. I had gone to the shop for getting auto cop gear lock when I happened to see this and I immediately liked it. its a narrow armrest and the col our too matches the car. he had only one piece at that time. I will inquire about it next time when I go there. it is very useful in long drives. it has a storage compartment . one can slide it back or forth for optimum comfort and for easy hand break operation. there's a cup holder at the rear.it cost me 800 .

Hi All,

I am writing on this thread at a long time, now that my Eritga has clocked more than 21000 kms, here are my views of owning one.

1. Excellent Fuel Avg. I am getting around 20.5kmpl in Chandigarh city with AC.

Key to get a good FE is, try to observe the Instant FE pattern, never rush through gears, all I just check the Instant Average Indicator, if it's dropping below 15kmpl there are 3 possibilities :-
1. Downshift required
2. Upshift required.
3. Just release your feet accelerate and again press this time be gentle instead of a fierce push for instant acceleration.

Rest i think, its Chandigarh's traffic and roads, which are helping us.

2. 1st and 2nd gear are pain in city traffic and once you are past them it is all a PLEASURE.

3. No problems whatsoever from the car so far, i have experienced a still situation at a steep incline during my Khajiaar trip, we were 7 ppl on-board, yes , it took some taking for the car to come out of that, but left me impressed, as even Innova had its heart out (was travelling in front of us).

Go for it guys , worth every penny. Just that servicing is very costly.
1. 10000 kms @ 5000 Rs.
2. 20000 kms @ 11000 Rs.

as quoted to me, by the Dealer.

Got my car serviced from caretaker-pkl, 2nd service, semi-synthetic oil, air filter changed, oil filter changed, rest everything done neatly(wheel balancing, alignment, etc). Got the bill of 2,900 after discount. Saw the whole procedure in front of my eyes [;)]
You can go for fully synthetic, for about 1k more.
Another dealer was asking for 3,700 with semi synthetic and 5,200 with full-synthetic oil.(weren't offering any discount)

Hi Saby,

Here is my break up of 10,000kms service.

1. Shell Engine Oil - 5W40 (Full Synthetic) - 3300/-
2. Air Filter + Oil Filter - 500/- approx.
3. Wheel Balancing + Alignment - 800/- (this was expensive)
4. Engine Flushing - 500/- (as this was a first oil change, so thought of going for it.)

I was quoted lesser prices by other dealers(authorized Maruti Service(only) Centers to be precise), but wanted to stick to the dealer from whom I bought the car for hassle free warranty claims.

Not sure if using any other oil will violate the warranty, since the owners manual now specifically mentions 5W40 or higher(which is 0W40).

I don't exactly remember of which company the oil was, It was Maruti Genuine Oil, maybe of Cervo.
"For all Maruti Diesel Cars" was listed on the can, I didn't check any numbers though. :P

The 0w40 is for extremely cold climates. 5w40 is good enough for normal conditions.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Has anyone used Total Quartz engine oil?

Hi Patkar,

I passed through the phase you are passing through now... and the answers are available for all your questions from page no.4 on this thread http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...ive-review-ertiga-zdi-its-ice-travelogue.html

You can get the 2 DIN from this link below:

Swift 2012 Model Head Unit with GPS - Visakhpatnam - CDs - DVDs - original cd

Hope it helps...
thanks mahii,
Possibly gonna fit it,if only i get good returns on my stock HU.[frustration]

My car would would be coming around 1st week of april,so excited.[clap]

Another thing, with my accessory,i asked the technician, that 60/65w headlights wont work,so asked him with whether he can fix 100/90w headlights.
Technician:yes possible
me:so,bulbs with relay.
Technician:relay not required ,existing car wiring can handle 100/90w bulb.

me:(Dumbstuck)(bloody how??)

Because my current car to has a relay with 100/90w bulbs with relay!

Is this possible ?
