==================================

Hi Prem,

Can you pl let the TAI members know as to where did you buy the Front row armrest for your Ertiga? Its really augumented very well and I'm sure very comfy for long drives. I'm finding the space crunch near driver area and would love to have the arm rest fitted - i.e. what you have put in your Ertiga.

Pl respond with details....and thanks in advance :)

thanks in advance.

Wow, pretty creative idea. Even i am waiting for the details of the same. BTW it would be interesting to read the ownership report of your car.
well actually there is not much more to add the review has been quite comprehensive . The seat modification can be done at any good upholstery repair shop.Ideally last row of seats should have been made into a split configuration but I suppose you can't have everything.

Remove last row seats remove upholstery cut metal frame remove 3 inches weld 2 halves back together paint fit upholstery back after altering size and refit. Will post picture soon
In order to get extra two - three inches for the second row seat to back-off when third row seat is folded, simply pull out the head rests of third row before folding it. Hope this makes sense than altering the original seat frame which may shorten the back rest support.

It is true that the bumper is too weak. Still this is surprising considering that the speed was only 10kmph. My car had hit a dog when the car was at a speed of about 80 and had the bumper and fan assembly damaged + coolant leakage, but there was no damage to bonnet (mine is a VDi). The cost of repair was about 20k. While getting the repair done, I heard that quite a few Swift also get damaged due to dog hit because of weak bumper and radiator being close to bumper.

Even with the head rests removed the space is not enough I wanted maximum comfort for the mid row for long journeys so I got this done. I have also included pictures of the scangauge that I fitted as well as the Witson head unit from my polo.

The scangauge which is shown in the pictures above gives you the ability to view in a digital format various gauges among them temperature voltage etc the temperature shown is interesting as the ertiga analogue ones needle is fixed in the center position when the engine temperature is anywhere between 80 and 97°C.

Hi Saby,

Congrats and wish you sustain this. You are a gifted person. I am sorry, could not control my envy on you with your Ertiga. Me too have E.Beige ZDI and get only 14/kmpl in the city; 5300 Kms done. Your review was a confidence boosting one for me, though I booked it immediately upon launch like you. Best wishes.[clap]
