Just went through the Excel sheet created by 'Mahhi'. Dude, You're Awesome! [evil]
I was kind of wondering that was I going to be in loss by using a Diesel car as I don't drive so much.
But this is my MINIMUM city driving distance per month, I'm sure I'll recover the loss very soon as I do 2-3 times per year to both Amritsar and Shimla.
Though the Fuel prices that I've set MAY differ drastically, as our Govt. is Great! [lol]
Still, this satisfies me! [;)]

Thanks Saby, I'm glad you found it useful.

We all have followed your great thread and many on this forum have updated your thread with their Ertiga experiences as well. You are truly one of the 'early mover' of Ertiga and your updates have been followed by one and all :) thanks for all your contributions.

Also, you can find my comprehensive review of Ertiga ZDI, its positives, nagatives and also ICE specific details at greater details on http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...ive-review-ertiga-zdi-its-ice-travelogue.html

Hope you will find it useful.

Cheers..Mahi

Hi Mahi,

I saw your sensor and it looks great. Can I know where did you get this installed in B'lore and how much did it cost you?

I am looking for some kind of reverse sensor which I can see the entire view (including distance) like what I see in your Ertiga but I don't want to change my music system.

Many Thanks, Mahi

Hi Sree Vatsa,

Pl refer my thread for the details. These days head units systems are so advances that everything can be integrated with it. In my Ertiga I have a head unit that connects to backside camera and the distance sensors and when backing out, I get to see the rear view along with the distance of the object in the head unit display itself... it works like charm. I have attached many photos which will help you with decision making and choosing the right items.

I see that you are in Bangalore. Pl contact me so that I can help you with this.

Thanks..Mahi

Hi,

My Ertiga zdi has clocked 1600 kms today. I noticed a strange problem this morning. When I turn on AC, I hear a sound - like air blowing into a paper or sheet on the left side air duct. I switched off the AC and found that I hear this noise when the air blower is turned on.

I am planning to take it to workshop on Saturday. Will keep you guys posted. Meanwhile, can I check if any of you have experienced this? Please let me know. Thanks

Some interesting observation on this Saby's thread of Ertiga! :)

Does the picture below say more than words?! Just click on Views (last column) and you will know what I mean.

Very true, Saby has helped many of us and I was closely following his thread. When you enter The Automotive India in Google Chrome it will display the pre populated search key as "The Automotive India Ertiga".

I have been following this thread intermittently since last November when I started looking to upgrade to an SUV.

After much investigation, TD and browsing through the forums, I have narrowed down to Ertiga. On the year end date of 31st Dec' 2012 brought an serene blue Ertiga ZDI with alloy wheels. During that time Ertiga ZDI varients were readily available here in Hyderabad without any waiting period with a 5000 year end discount.

The vehicle has covered now 3000+ km. During the initial 1000 kms, the FE used to be around 16Km/lt on tank full basis. Now for last 3 tank fulls the FE is 18 plus/minus 1km. The odo now is showing an average of 20km[clap].

In terms of performance and pickup I agree with all of the members who have quoted here on excellent drivability. In fact in my office I have provided my vehicle for TD to few of my colleagues who argued of Ertiga being under powered due to smaller capacity engine. To be honest all of them (nearly 5 persons) were taken back their statement upon driving this vehicle and were amazed at the smoothness and responsiveness of the engine.

To all prospective members looking to upgrade to a SUV (or even a sedan), my advise would be to evaluate on below terms:
1. Is the vehicle to be driven by self and ashamed to be mistaken for a chauffeur on being behind the steering of an SUV
2. If conscious about Fuel Efficiency
3. To get all the luxuries of mid level sedan
4. Car like handling and drive ability.
5. Reliable service network

In all above aspects, at the current Indian vehicle scenario Ertiga would be a clear choice [:)]

Wow!
Thanks Mahii! [:)]
We all are a part of Ertiga family now and we all, together did it! [clap]
Hail Suzuki, Hail Ertiga! [;)]
The reason why I highlighted the above aspect (number of views) is that the only 1217 posts have elicited total of 2,75,220 views is something thats stunning. The second thread with 3 times the number of posts is trailing in second position with 2,73,446 views :)

This says few things:

1. There are more number of viewers of this thread than those who contribute. The requirement is that everybody contribute :)
2. I'm sure all of our contributions and reviews are helping lot of other people to decide on their vehicle, if someone is looking for one!
3. It might have impacted the Ertiga sales as well :)

So, all in all, good going!

Cheers..Mahi

Hi Harikomma,

The *ONLY* major disappointment of me for Ertiga is build quality. If you palm-press against anywhere on the body of Ertiga, you will know what I'm talking about. Lets say if you give a minor punch anywhere on the body, you will see huge dent on it [frustration].... I'm sure about it. Same thing goes true for new SWIFT which is made up of far thinner metal sheet than compared to earlier version of SWIFT which is far more sturdier.

This is the only grouse and hence am extremely careful in driving this vehicle compared to my old gold Zen Car.

Hope that helps
Mahi

At least Ertiga's built quality is much much better than of Etios.
Many of my friends and I discarded Etios from the list just coz of it's built quality, metal sheets used in it are very thin, you can feel it by simply knocking it.

Thats something i can say with my firsthand exprience. I hit a tempo/auto from behind at max 10 kmph and he didnt even bother to get out to check what happened where as it costed me 40K to get it to drive again. on the positive side the replaced bonnet is of a much better quality and thicker than the original I feel. Also my horn is still not fixed nobody is sure why it stops to work once in a while. its a major distraction and thats the reason i got in to that accident, i feel really lucky that i was not on a highway when it happned.

overall quality of car needs a lot of improvement as it simply does not feel 10 lakh car, however i am simply amazed by the engineering effort as to see how they managed to find so much space inside the car.

I received my ertiga on Tuesday the first thing I had done was chop 3 inches of the last row seat backrest. Now when folding it over the second row can be pushed all the way back for greater comfort. I will post pictures once I get back from Goa connectivity is limited here. Has anyone bought a 2 din convertor fascia plate for the Ertiga I need to get one as I wish to fit my Witson unit from my earler Polo
Hi Vu2gte,

can you please tell me how and where did you get this last row chopped off by 3 inches. I am getting my vxi soon and would like to try this as well...

Wow, pretty creative idea. Even i am waiting for the details of the same. BTW it would be interesting to read the ownership report of your car.
