Hi
I had mailed to Maruti Suzuki Customer care technical department regarding the up sizing the Tyre of Ertica. I received mail the details are below

"We would like to inform you that Maruti Suzuki India Limited does not recommended any modification of vehicle’s given specification .
Tyre up gradation may lead low mileage of vehicle.
And it is also affect your vehicle warranty policy."

I am confused what to do.

Also, I am veering toward the Ecru Beige VDi, as ZDi are getting delayed due to Airbag import issue.

Can we negotiate any freebie?
Hi sandeep,

Which delaer you have booked.. Me also got the same problem.. dealer(ABT Maruti, chennai) convince me to get the vdi instead of ZDI. They said the reason because of Alloy wheels and Airbags shortage. But I strictly told them I need ZDI. I have booked on May 2,2012. They have alloted a vehicle last week. Tommorow I am going to get the delivery of ZDI. So check with your delaer again.. Now ZDI's are coming without alloys.

Dear Don't compromise with VDI. Go for ZDI with or without alloy. Safety also an important matter since you are paying around 10 Lakh rupees.

I am waiting for the delivery of Ertica ZDi, I am thinking of Up sizing the Tyre to 205/60/15 or 195/65/15 Yokohama,Which one would suite best, I want to know how it effects the mileage, does the rear Tyre touches the body, and the drive experience
Hi subhash,
Congrats on booking your ertiga. 205/60/15 is acceptable . 195/65/15 will fall outside the recommended safe limit. you can consider 195/60/15 instead. I also studied a lot about these tyre upsizes but finally decided to keep the stock tyres till next change. Till that time warranty issue will also be immaterial. 205/60/15 will increase ground clearance by 6 mm and 195/60/15 will decrease the ground clearance by 6 mm. please take into account that changing the tyres will vary your odometer and speedometer readings. Abnormal size tyres may also touch the body of car while taking a turn.

We have the 195/65/15 Yoko A Drives on our Ertiga ZDi. Completed 6800kms without any issues. The increased ground clearance is 185+6.5= 191mm, helpful as well.[:)]
Hi Subhash, 195/60/15 will be a good choice for you and you will not have any big bad impact, but u will only have good experience. my Tyre upsize done at Dealer place itself before delivery, no warning of warranty under the upsize limit, still applicable and i think it depends the dealer. the mileage is less 1km when you upsize within the limit(less 0.67km for 205). if you worry much or concerned, just use the original and decide it later after warranty period or when you really feel to change without worries :-)

I have finished 6000 kms so far in 2 months. done 2 servicing. vitesse mumbai was better experience though they too hadn't done interior cleaning well. ertiga is giving mileage of 14.3 to 15.3 kpl in mumbai city (up from 13-13.5km earlier).
have taken extended warranty of 60,000kms/3 years. didnt make sense to go for 4 years as suspension, ac is not covered after 60k/3 years.
some useful tips to increase mileage:
a. drive at constant speed of 60-80kms. avg touches 30kpl during that time.
b. shut off at signals
c. turn ac off when waiting or at slow speeds.
d. maintain correct tire pressure.

some disappointments though:-
a. tire puncture twice.
b. audio system isn't working well. khrrr sound starts to come from speaker.
c. battery charger fuse went off. had to get it replaced.
d. plastic on doors seems like it can come off any time.
e. BIG TIME DISAPPOINTMENT- the soft suspension leading to bouncy rides for mid row passengers

Finally I found someone whose BIG TIME DISAPPOINTMENT is same as me. I don't know if there is any way we can make the ride quality better. So next thing I can hope is improvement of road quality in Maharashtra.[:D] I have seen most of the users are from South India and they have no complaints about ride quality. I assume better roads can be the reason.
I also bought the car from VITESSE mumbai but unfortunately my experience was horrible with them. Overall I feel Vitesse is not much different than other dealers.
